Orly Mysterious Curse~Swatch

Hey y'all!  Today I have a new swatch to share.  I recently went to one of my local Sally's stores and they had all of the Orly Dark Shadows Collection on clearance for $2.00.  The only one I really liked was Mysterious Curse, I've been wanting it since it first came out and I was not going to pass it up for 2 bucks lol.  I love it!

This next photo is Mysterious Curse with a coat of Claire's Evil Queen, they are a perfect match for each other.

Thanks for stopping by today, hope you're enjoying your Saturday!  XOXO

Blue Water Marble

Hey y'all!  Today I have another water marble to share.  This was actually going to be my base for the Pool Summer Fun Challenge from Tuesday but I didn't want to put anything over it, I liked it as is.

The polishes used are China Glaze Shower Together, China Glaze Kinetic Candy, KleanColor White, and I don't know if you can see it very well but I did one drop of LA colors Live.

Hope you have a great weekend!  XOXO!

Summer Fun Challenge~Day 4~We Like it Hot, Hot, Hot!

Hey y'all.  Today we're on Day 4 of Neverland Nail Blog's Summer Fun Challenge.  Today's theme is "We Like it Hot, Hot, Hot!"  But I'm going to be honest with you, I don't particularly like it hot, hot, hot. I absolutely live in the wrong place considering I don't like hot though.  Here in Louisiana we really only have two Seasons...Summer and Summer.  It's hotter than hell and the humidity we have here makes it even hotter and just disgusting.  You can't go outside after 10 am without bursting into flames just walking to your mailbox. It's just way too dang hot!

Louisiana Summer is what inspired my Nail art today, it's just fitting.  ;)

Hope you're having a great Summer so far and I hope you're enjoying the Summer Fun Challenge Posts.  Be sure to check out the other awesome mani's for today's challenge below.  XOXO

More Tie Dye Nails AND a Tutorial

Hey y'all!  I'm really excited about today's post and I hope y'all like it too.  I did my very first Video Tutorial for Tie Dye nails using the needle drag technique.  I'm really proud of how it came out and I hope y'all find it helpful and go out and do tons of tie dye nails :).

First...the nails!  These were done using 4 polishes from the China Glaze Electropop Collection; Fuchsia Fanatic, Sunshine Pop, Aquadelic and Gothic Lolita.

And my Youtube Debut :)

Hey y'all!  I don't normally post this late but I've been kind of busy today so I didn't get a chance to post this morning. Today is Day 3 of Neverland Nail's Summer Fun Challenge and today's theme is "Pool Party".

I used Savvy Totally Teal for my "pool" background and Zoya Dominique, KleanColor Neon Yellow and Pure Ice French Kiss for the beach balls.  The white and black are acrylic paints.

Thanks for stopping by today, hope you're enjoying the Summer Fun Challenge. Be sure to check out the other's posts below.  XOXO

MSMD: Nails Adored Pinup Girl Nails

Another Monkey See Monkey Do Monday is upon us.  Today I chose to replicate some really adorable nails done by Jamie at NailsAdored.com   She posted her Pinup Girl nails back in December but I've had them saved because I wanted to do them.  They are super cute, I just love them.

I used China Glaze Ruby Pumps, NYC Black creme and Klean Colors White.

These are Jamie's and you can also view her original post HERE.

Thanks for stopping by today, be sure to check out the other participants in today's MSMD below.  XOXO

NVL Floam

I haven't been this excited to have a polish on my nails in a while.  It totally made my day, week, month, and year to get this in the mail.  Floam has been one of my biggest lemmings since I first saw Amy post a photo of it.  It's so cute and unique looking.  I had never seen glitter like this before and she did an amazing job creating this little baby.   And Amy from Nailventurous Lacquers is one of the sweetest people in the Indie biz so it's an honor to be able to show off her amazing polish.

I used China Glaze Aquadelic as underwear on my index, middle and pinky and Sinful Colors Innocent on my thumb and ring. I can't decide if I like the blue or the green underwear better, they both compliment Floam really well.

I LOVE this polish, it's awesome.

Brave Nails

Me and my daughter are really excited to go see Brave.  It's all she's talked about for the last month or so.  It comes out in theaters today so thought I'd do some Brave nail art.

The main character's name is Merida and she is a feisty little red head that's trying to make her own path in life.  It looks like a really cute movie and Merida is adorable with her fiery red curly locks.  She is also the focus of today's nail art.

Merida is done using all acrylic paints and the background is Sinful Colors Exotic Green stamped with Konad plate m60 using NYC Black Creme and Color Club Antiquated.  I love my background!

I really hope you enjoyed my post today and I hope you enjoy the movie if you go this weekend.  Have a great weekend! XOXO

Day 2 of Summer Fun Challenge: Summer Lovin'

Howdy!  Today is Day 2 of the Neverland Nail Blog's Summer Fun Challenge. Today's theme is "Summer Lovin".

I know, I really need to work on photography skills lol.  I was using my homemade light box with these and sometimes I just can't seem to get the colors to be bright enough.  If you have any advice on that, I'd love to hear it.  I have my white balance settings set the properly (I think).  It's like sometimes I can get a decent pic and sometimes I can take a 100 and not one of them makes me happy.  SMH

For this mani I used China Glaze Kinetic Candy and Wicked Style, Sinful colors Innocent and Exotic Green, Klean color White and various acrylic paints.

Be sure to check out the other participants in this challenge below.  XOXO

OPI Nothin Mousie Bout It~Swatch

Hey y'all.  Today I have a swatch from the OPI Vintage Minnie Mouse Collection, "Nothin Mousie Bout it".  This is a really cute polish, every girly girl needs this one.  It's a clear polish with tiny pink flakies and big pink hearts.  I LOVE the flakies in it, I'd wear it without the hearts too.

This is "Nothin' Mousie Bout it" over OPI "Do you think I'm Tex-y?"

I really am not a fan of the big glitters like this because you pretty much have to put them in place yourself instead of just swiping it on like normal.  These are super cute though.

Hope you have a great day!  XOXO

Day 1 Summer Fun Challenge: Grill Master!

Hey ya'll!  I am doing a Summer nail art challenge put together by the lovely Lindsey from Neverland Nail blog.  There are 8 challenges and we're doing them 2 per week instead of daily.  Day 1 is "Grill Master". I went with our own picnic grilling staples, hamburgers and hotdogs.  Grilled is really the only way I'll eat a hot dog!

I really liked my picnic table cloth pattern, I think it came out pretty cute.

The polishes used were Klean Color White, NYC Big Apple Red, the pink was a mix of the red and white.  The rest is acrylic paints.

Here is the Challenge list:

MSMD: Scratch Dollface Nails

Happy Monday!  Today is I have installment of the Monkey See Monkey Do group challenge.  I picked an awesome Nail artist to copy today Scratch Dollface.  She is so talented and I love her work. My inspiration today is from a set of black and white nails that she did.

The polishes used were Klean Colors White, Sinful Colors Secret Admirer, and NYC Black Lace Creme.

Here's the inspiration:

NOTD: A few polishes from the OPI Nicki Minaj Collection

For my birthday one of my really good friends got me the OPI Nicki Minaj Mini set.  After 3 months of hoarding them, I decided it was time to break them out of their pretty shiny box and get my nails did.    I don't know why but when I get mini's like this I always feel like I need to save them.  I don't know what I think I'm saving them for exactly but I guess I just don't want to waste them.  I'm a weirdo, I know.

I LOVE the glitter from this collection, "Save Me", it has scattered silver micro glitter and different colored holo bar glitter.  I love it, I love it, I love it!  For this mani I used "Fly" and "Pink Friday" with a coat of "Save Me" on each nail.

China Glaze Optical Illusion~Swatch

I have had this polish for a while now and this my first time wearing it.  It's so pretty, I just love me some glitter.

When I was inside the house it looked more blue than green but outside it's more green.  I really do love this polish.  This is 3 coats.  All of the polishes in Prismatics Collection are so pretty.  I only have Optical Illusion and Prism though.  I need to try to find the rest before they're HTF.

Have a great day! XOXO

Neon Tie Dye Nails

TGIF!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I am so over this week, ugh!  I thought I'd start my weekend off with something bright and fun.   I decided on doing tie dye nails by doing the needle drag technique.  I have done the tie dye before, you can view that post HERE.  I loved those so much, I thought it would pretty awesome in neons.  It's all about the neon nail right now anyways, right? ;)

For this I used; Klean Color White as my base; China Glaze Pink Voltage, NK Yellow, Spoiled Permission to Proceed, Sinful Colors Why Not, and Ruby Kisses Look at me Purple.

I am really disappointed that my pics didn't come out better.  I tried taking them with every setting I had on my camera and every possible lighting I had and they just weren't cooperating AT ALL.  Neons are just hard to capture for me, this was the best I could get.  The purple isn't as purpley as it is in real life.  :(

I really love how they turned out though.  This technique takes me a while to get though, I redid several nails in the process.  I think I actually did my pinky at least 4 times.  lol

Updated to add tutorial video:

Well, thanks for taking the time to look at my blog today.  I hope you have a fantastic Friday and a great weekend.  XOXO

Wild Blue Gradient

This is a mani from the vault.  I actually entered this into the Rite Aid Nail contest a while back....I lost.  WOMP WOMP  lol  Despite the fact that I lost, I really love this gradient, I thought it was pretty awesome.  I used all Wet and Wild Polishes; Rain check, Sapphire Blue and Kaleidoscope.

I probably should have come up with something better considering it was a nail art contest. It's really not very original.  In fact, when I was looking through my album of nail pics I saw one that I've done before that's almost exactly like this.  I copied off of myself and I didn't even realize it.  Doh!

Oh well, its still pretty lol  XOXO

Holo Hump Day

Another group challenge, this time it's HOLO.  I chose Milani HD with dots using Elemental Styles Actin-ium My Age.  This was the first time I ever wore the HD and holy crap it's gorgeous.  I really need more holo's in my life.

The only thing I don't like about holo's is that they are pretty drab when you're not in the sun.  But OMG, when you are in the sun they are so gorgeous.

Be sure to check out the other ladies that are participating in Holo Hump Day.  XOXO

Essie~Off The Shoulder~Swatch

A few weeks ago I signed up Klout.com and I just got my first perk in the mail.  Klout is basically a social networking site that takes your statistic information from other social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.  It takes your information and then you are qualified for "Perks" according to your Klout score.  Your profile will show you your score and how many people you potentially influence.  My Klout score is 53.  There's really nothing to it except sign up and do what you normally do.

Anyhoo, my first perk that I claimed was to try a polish from the Essie 2012 Summer Collection.  I was sent Essie "Off The Shoulder".  It's a really pretty pink and it is PERFECT for summer.

A lot of the perks that I've been eligible for were discounts and coupons but this one was completely free.  I like free, especially free polish lol.

Ruby Gloom Nails

My daughter has been watching episodes of Ruby Gloom on Netflix lately and she suggested that I do some Ruby Gloom nails.  And like always, what baby wants, baby gets. haha

I really don't know too much about the show itself.  It's a little girl named Ruby Gloom and she is "the happiest girl in the world".  Her favorite quote is "Look on the bright side".  What is so ironic about her being the happiest girl in the world is just how goth and edgy she is.  She's really cute!

The polishes used were NYX Dorothy, NYC Big Apple Red and Wet and Wild Sunny Side Up.

Using Vinyl remix with GLITTER!!!!

I showed you some polishes a few weeks ago from the Pure Ice Vinyl Remix Collection, you can see my review HERE.  I mentioned something about them looking really cool over glitter so I thought I'd show you.

This is Emcee Me and Vintage remix over a few coats of Pure Ice Beware.  Beware is a really pretty silver micro glitter in a clear base.  It is full coverage in 3 coats, it's really gorgeous alone.  I think the Vinyl Remixes look AWESOME over it though.

My photos really don't do this combo justice, it's really sparkly and pretty.  I really like the polishes from the Vinyl Remix Collection.  I have yet to find them in any of the Wal-Marts near me though, I really want the pink and blue ones.   You can use them over any polish too, not just the Magic Base coat.  I may do another post showing them over other colors,  it's pretty neat how they change colors.

Well, I hope you enjoyed my post today and I hope you're having a fantastic weekend. XOXO

Sprinkle Nails

I've seen a few posts here lately where people used real sugar sprinkles and nonpareils so I thought "What the heck, lets try it".  Check out these two posts using real sprinkles, Sprinkle Nails by XOXO Alexis Leigh and Candy Warrior by Chalkboard Nails

While these aren't the most practical nails, it is pretty cute I think.  I did both mine and my daughters.  I only had some Christmas nonpareils and some Easter sprinkles so I went with the Easter pink and purple for us.

My daughter's base coat was Sinful Colors 24/7 and mine was China Glaze Gothic Lolita

Neither of us wore them very long.  She wanted hers taken off as soon as I finished taking pictures.  She was just letting me use her as a guinea pig lol  Like I said, they're very impractical but I think they would be cute for a party or halloween or something like that.

What I did was painted the nails with one coat and then pressed them one by one in my little cupcake wrapper with the sprinkles.  After I got it covered I pressed them slightly with my finger to kind of imbed them in the polish better.  I put a coat of Julep fast dry top coat on top.   The top coat sinks in the crevices and makes them nice and shiny.

So, can you see yourself wearing real sprinkles on your nails?

Neon Spun Sugar Nails

Hey y'all!  After playing with the spun sugar technique with metallics last week I thought I'd give it another try.  This time with NEONS!  Neons are the hottest thing right now.  I am REALLY hoping to get my hands on the new China Glaze Summer Neons collection soon, they're awesome!!!!

Anyhoo, back to my neon spun sugar nails.  I did a background of Wet and Wild Black Cream and my neons were china Glaze Pool Party, NK Yellow, Spoiled Permission to Proceed, Sinful Colors Why Not?, and Ruby Kisses Look at Me Purple.

I have a feeling these would look pretty bad ass under a black light!!!!

I am really loving the spun sugar technique, I have several different color combos I want to try.  Thanks for stopping by, XOXO!

Water Marble Nails

I haven't done a water marble in a while so I thought I'd give it another go.  It's one of my favorite techniques...especially now that I know what I'm doing haha.  You can see my first water marble HERE if you'd like to see it lol. I've definitely got it down TONS better now.

I seriously love this, it's so colorful and bright.  I used Klean Colors White as my base.  For my water marble I used China Glaze Wicked Styled, China Glaze Sunshine Pop, Sinful Colors Innocent, China Glaze Aquadelic and China Glaze Gothic Lolita and then I added China Glaze Fairy Dust for a little sparkle :)

Thanks for stopping by today, XOXO!
