My Top 20 Favorite Nails of 2012~Part 1

Hey y'all!  As 2012 draws to the end we have been thinking about how the year went. 2012 was a really fantastic year for my family and I, probably one of the best.  We've had stressful moments, sure, but all in all this has been one of the best years we've had in a long time.  It was just one of those years that (mostly) everything seemed to go our way.  And if you know us, you know that doesn't happen often lol.  I really have a good feeling about 2013 too.  I have a few really exciting things happening for me for 2013.  I can't wait to see what's in store. :)

Anyhoo, I thought it would be fun to look back at some of my favorite nails I did this year.  This was harder than I originally thought it was going to be.  My original idea was actually to do a top 10 but I couldn't narrow it down to just 10 so I decided 20 would be a good number.  I actually had a hard time narrowing it down to 20 too though lol

20. Bee Mine These were done for my first nail art contest that I won! :)

19. Mom & Daughter Watermelon Nails This one is a Two for One ;)

18. Beale St. Inspired Nail Art  I really loved how these came out. These were also done for a nail art contest that I won.

17. What's A Happenin' Hot Stuff

16. Felix The Cat

15. Magically Delicious

14. Steel Magnolias

13. Brave Nails

12. On the Pontoon  Which is STILL my favorite song of the year.  I was super excited when Little Big Town shared this mani on their facebook, Twitter and Pinterest pages.  I about died!  lol

11. LSU Nails  This was probably one of the first elaborate nail arts (is that right way to say that? lol) I ever did. I love how these turned out.

Thanks for checking out my post today.  I will be posting my Top 10 tomorrow.  :)  Have a great day! XOXO

Christmas Beauty Haul (Pic Heavy)

Hey y'all!  Sorry for the lack of posts, on top of doing the Christmas thing I've been sick.  Yesterday was the first day I've felt like doing much of anything.  I hope everyone thoroughly enjoyed your holiday this week.  Despite being sick as a dog, I did have a really great Christmas.  My kids slept until 4:30 lol so we were awake opening presents way before the sun came up.  I wouldn't have had it any other way though.  They had a blast and so did my husband and I. Probably would one of the best Christmases that we've ever had.  My daughter actually said it was the best Christmas ever several times lol.  Santa brought her and my son both a Nintendo 3DS so they were super happy about that.  They are really sweet kids so their presents were much deserved this year.  :)

I don't know that I was all that good but Santa was also really good to me this year.  My husband went above and beyond what we were supposed to do, so he's in trouble....lol just kidding, he's definitely not in trouble.  He spoiled me with all kinds of awesome beauty goodies AND a Kindle Fire. I was super surprised.

I thought I'd do a little Christmas beauty haul for you guys.  I always like haul posts so I hope you like them too :D

Here's everything altogether: Urban Decay Naked 2 palette,  OPI The Man With The Golden Gun, 2 Victorias Secret lipglosses, 3 Revlon polishes, and a Coach wristlet.

This is the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette.  It also came with a free Lip Junkie gloss in Naked & a 24/7 Glide-on eye pencil in Zero.

This is a gorgeous palette.  I may have to ask for the first one for my birthday haha.

Next is OPI The Man With The Golden Gun.  You can expect it's own post soon.  I actually had to take of my pretty candy cane and bow nails so I could put this on for Christmas lol.  He had this in the same box as the the eyeshadow.  I opened the box and saw the palette first and handed him the box to put in our trash pile thinking there was nothing else in it.  Glad he didn't let me throw that away haha.  I still can't believe I have this ahhhhh.

This the Coach wristlet.  This is my first Coach.  I love love love it.  I feel fancy now!

These are Victorias Secret Shiny Kiss Flavored Glosses in (L to R) Grapefruit Blast & Taffy Go Lucky.  They are so pretty on and they taste yummy too.  For his benefit and mine you think? ;)

Lastly but not leastly, these are the 3 Revlons.  (L to R)  Hearts of Gold FX, Celestial FX, & Brilliant Bordeaux.

He did good!

I also got some awesome goodies from my Mom and Dad and Mother in Law.  My MIL got me a nice stand mixer, I need to bake something this weekend so I can use it.  My Mom and Dad got me a really cute Pea Coat, 2 shirts AND a brand new amazing camera.  I took these photos with it but I'm still learning.  There's lots of settings and stuff I have no idea about yet lol.  My Dad is a photographer so I may need to get him to show me the ropes a bit.    I love it though!

I definitely had some really awesome gifts and I was totally surprised this year.  I'm known in my family as "The Gift Whisperer", I usually always know what I'm getting before I open anything lol.  I didn't know anything this year so it was pretty exciting.

Did you get any good beauty products this year?

Candy Cane Nails w/ Acrylic Bow Accent

Hey y'all!  Merry Christmas Eve!  I can't believe there is only one more day until Christmas.  Then we only have a week left of 2012, can you believe that?  This year went by incredibly fast for me.

I am super excited about Christmas, I can't wait for Santa to come tonight.  I have a feeling my kids are going to be SO happy in the morning.  They aren't perfect little angels by any means but they are really good kids so I know they are on the Nice List this year ;).

Tonight we are spending the evening with my husband's family and tomorrow we're spending the day with my family.  I love being around all of our families at Christmas, it's just a really special time.

Anyhoo, today I am sharing my "official" Christmas nails and I really love them.  I did something new last night and you can be sure you'll be seeing more of it.  I made a bow out of nail acrylic.  I believe this technique is called acrylic sculpting.  I still need a little practice but I love, love, love how it turned out.  The candy cane stripes were freehanded using a striper brush.

Polishes Used:
China Glaze Ruby Pumps
Zoya Ivanka
Pure ice White

I am definitely going to have to go buy some colored acrylic now, this could be addicting.  Have I mentioned I love it?  lol   My house smelled like a nail salon for real last night though, it was so strong.

Here's a few fake nails that I practiced on before doing it on my nail.  I also practiced on some paper too but I forgot to take a picture before I threw it away.  They were mostly a mess lol.  I just used the acrylic that came with a Kiss at home acrylic nail kit.  What do you think about this technique?  Have you ever tried acrylic sculpting yourself?

So far all I've tried to do is the bows, but there are really endless possibilities.  I will definitely be doing this some more. :)

Thank you so much stopping by today.  I want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas.  If you don't celebrate, I hope you have a wonderful and peaceful day!  XOXO

NFL Series #16~ Philadelphia Eagles

Hello!  Today's post is my 16th week of the NFL series, the Philadelphia Eagles.  I have officially done at least one mani for every single NFL team now.  Next week is the last game of the regular season and the end of my series until the Superbowl.  I really hope everyone has enjoyed this series as much as I have enjoyed doing it.  It's been fun. I still can't believe I've done ALL of the NFL teams on my nails lol.

I really love how these turned out.  The Eagle came out better than I expected.  The only thing that people may not like is that I didn't have quite the right shade of blue.  :/

Hope the Eagles fans like it! :)

Caviar Christmas Nails

Hey y'all!  Only 5 more days until Christmas, yay!  Today's Christmas nails are a new technique for me.  Caviar nails or fish egg nails, whatever you want to call them!   Ever since I started seeing these around I haven't really been all that crazy about them but I have to admit, I kind of love them.  I got a pack of the little beads at the Dollar Tree over the weekend. There are so many different things you can do with them too.

I just did an accent nail with them and I think it turned out super cute. I couldn't get the beads to stick all over like I wanted but the gaps aren't too terribly noticeable I don't think.

 Polishes Used:
Sinful Colors Exotic Green
Sinful Colors San Fransisco
Zoya Dominique
Rush Fast Dry Top Coat

I know I'm a little late to this trend but I do like it so I'm sure you will be seeing more of it.  :)  Have a great day everybody!  XOXO

Ornament Inspired Nail Art

Hey y'all!  Christmas is only 6 days away, can you believe it?  Are you ready?  If things go well, I'll be completely done shopping by the end of today..woohoo.  I can't wait until Christmas morning, my kids are going to be SO excited about their gifts. I just hope they let us sleep later than they did last year.  They woke us up about 2:30 to tell us Santa had come lol. I don't have the heart to tell them to go back to bed.  They wouldn't go back to sleep anyways.  I mean really, who could go back to sleep knowing Santa had come???  ;)

Anyhoo, today's nails are inspired by one of the ornaments on my tree. I really really love how these turned out, the photos don't really do them justice.

Just Elfin' Around with Nail Decals

Hey y'all!  I couldn't help but make that my title today, I thought it was cute and it just fit so well. Today's nails feature a goodie I got a while back when I placed an order with Jindie Nails.  I ordered Candy Cane and got Just Elfin' Around as a freebie.

Just Elfin' Around is a fantastic Christmasy glitter topcoat.  It has different sizes of red and white glitter with green gold and silver holo glitter too. It's so pretty!  I put it over Zoya Dominique with an accent nail of Pure Ice White and a Santa water decal.  I love this look so much.

Polishes Used:
Zoya Dominique
Jindie Nails Just Elfin' Around
Pure Ice White

Did you notice my new watermark style?  I just learned how to do the curved text on paint shop pro so I thought I'd give it a whirl.  I've had a couple of photos stolen lately where people either cropped or photoshopped my watermark out so I'm hoping this will be a little harder to get rid of.  Do you think it better than the big across the photo watermarks I normally do?  I'd love your input.  :)

Have a great day everyone!  XOXO
