Candy Cane Nails w/ Acrylic Bow Accent

Hey y'all!  Merry Christmas Eve!  I can't believe there is only one more day until Christmas.  Then we only have a week left of 2012, can you believe that?  This year went by incredibly fast for me.

I am super excited about Christmas, I can't wait for Santa to come tonight.  I have a feeling my kids are going to be SO happy in the morning.  They aren't perfect little angels by any means but they are really good kids so I know they are on the Nice List this year ;).

Tonight we are spending the evening with my husband's family and tomorrow we're spending the day with my family.  I love being around all of our families at Christmas, it's just a really special time.

Anyhoo, today I am sharing my "official" Christmas nails and I really love them.  I did something new last night and you can be sure you'll be seeing more of it.  I made a bow out of nail acrylic.  I believe this technique is called acrylic sculpting.  I still need a little practice but I love, love, love how it turned out.  The candy cane stripes were freehanded using a striper brush.

Polishes Used:
China Glaze Ruby Pumps
Zoya Ivanka
Pure ice White

I am definitely going to have to go buy some colored acrylic now, this could be addicting.  Have I mentioned I love it?  lol   My house smelled like a nail salon for real last night though, it was so strong.

Here's a few fake nails that I practiced on before doing it on my nail.  I also practiced on some paper too but I forgot to take a picture before I threw it away.  They were mostly a mess lol.  I just used the acrylic that came with a Kiss at home acrylic nail kit.  What do you think about this technique?  Have you ever tried acrylic sculpting yourself?

So far all I've tried to do is the bows, but there are really endless possibilities.  I will definitely be doing this some more. :)

Thank you so much stopping by today.  I want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas.  If you don't celebrate, I hope you have a wonderful and peaceful day!  XOXO
