Let's Start a Riot

Hey y'all!  I am so excited today!  Last night I hit 300 followers!!!!  When I saw that number I actually teared up lol.  I just love my blog and this community so much and it means so much to me to know that you actually care about what I have to say and post everyday.  This is my other baby and I love doing this so much.  I just want to tell you all that I appreciate every one of you and all of your comments and feedback, it just means a lot to me. I truly value the new friendships that I have made in this hobby.  Thank you so so much for all of your continued support and love.  :)

Okay, enough of the mushy stuff and on to the nail stuff lol.  Today I have some new music inspired nail art to share.  I've mostly done the old school stuff, so I thought I'd do something from one of my favorite modern bands....Three Days Grace.

This is inspired by the album art on One-X.  I love love love Three Days Grace and this album in particular.  You know it's good when you can listen to the whole thing from start to finish and One-X is one of those albums for me.

This was done using Wet and Wild Black Creme, Klean Colors White, and Wet and Wild Caught Red Handed and then I added Hard Candy Matte-ly In Love.

What do you think?  Do you like it?  Do you like Three Days Grace?  Actually I don't want to know if you don't like them, we can't be friends if you don't so we'll just pretend you all do ;).

Thanks for stopping by, hope you enjoyed my post today!  XOXO

China Glaze Prism

Hey guys!  Today I have one of my newer polishes to share.  It's also one of my new favorites.  This is from the China Glaze Prismatics collection, Prism.

(Edited to add:  when this originally posted, I had this titled China Glaze Optical Illusion.  I realized that it was wrong when I went to actually swatch Optical Illusion.  Opps, sorry for any confusion!)

This is really awesome, it's got a lavender hue to it and a bunch of different colored glitters scattered through out.  And I love the formula too, it's a 2 coat full coverage glitter!!!

I was given this polish by the lovely Heather at Peace, Love and Polish.  I am definitely hooked on the Prismatics now and this one is my favorite!

Scrapbook Paper Inspired Nails

Howdy!  Thursday I had a guest post on Nails Adored so I thought I'd share the mani I did for her with my followers too.

This mani was inspired by a piece of scrapbook paper by My Minds Eye from the Magnolia Collection.

The base color is Klean Colors Metallic Mango with two coats of Wet and Wild 9.0.2.1.Orange.  The flowers were done using Sinful Colors Innocent, Wet and Wild Sunny Side Up, Sinful Colors Why Not, Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow, and NYC Big Apple Red Creme.  The black was done with black acrylic paint.

Have you ever used scrapbook paper as your inspiration?  If you have I'd love to see it, feel free to post a link in my comments :)

XOXO

Elemental Styles Actin-ium My Age

Hey ya'll!  Happy Friday! YAY!  Today is field day at my kid's school so I'm pretty excited.  I always loved field day when I was a kid.  With both of my kids being in school this year, this is sure to be a busy day running around the school yard back and forth between both kids lol.  I love it though!

Today I have an awesome polish swatch to share.  Our school's colors are Purple and Gold so I decided to put on this polish and O-M-G.  This is an amazing Indie polish by Elemental Styles called "Actin-ium My Age".  I only bought a mini bottle and I am definitely going to be getting the full size bottle ASAP!

These two were taken without a flash in my "lightbox". They show more of the true purple hue than the one with flash.

This one was taken with flash, couldn't you just die?  Take in all of the holo goodness.

This is definitely one of my new favorites, I don't think I can say enough good things about it.  It's just beautiful, the formula and application is flawless.  I am very impressed.

You have to check out Whitney's Etsy Shop Elemental Styles as well as her blog.  Actin-ium My Age is out of stock right now but she has other fantastic polishes available too.  I also got King Neptunium and it is equally as beautiful.  I've only swatched it on a nail wheel but take my word, it is gorgeous...and there's ONE still available in her Etsy shop so you better jump on it.  ;) I'll do a post on it next week.  I'm going to wear this one as long as I possibly can lol.

Well, I hope you enjoy your Friday.  And I hope I can pay attention at field day instead of staring at my nails all day lol.

XOXO

Tape Mani Thursday!

Hey y'all!  Today I have a tape mani to share.  This was done using Klean Color White, Wet and Wild Black Creme and China Glaze Aquadelic...and tape. :)

This was my first attempt at this kind of tape mani, the others I've done were pretty simple.  I used Nailside's Double Lightning Bolt tutorial, HERE.  With drying time and cutting the tape and getting the tape positioned right, it took about an hour and a half for both hands.  I love how it turned out, it's probably my favorite mani I've done in a while.

This mani was part of a group challenge so be sure to check out all of the awesome Tape Mani's below.  :)

Happy Birthday Mom~Betty Boop Style

Howdy!  Today I have an extra special guest post...my Mom.  This isn't her first appearance but today is extra special because it's her birthday!!!!

She asked me to do some birthday nails for her and she decided on Betty Boop.  Her and Betty Boop go way back, they share the same name, minus the boop part and her name is spelled Bettie lol.  She actually goes by Betsy, don't know why though, only her close friends and family call her Bettie and naturally she gets called Betty Boop quite a bit too lol.

Anyhoo, I just thought I'd share her Betty Boop nails on her special day.  :)  Happy Birthday Mom, I love you!

That's Betty Boop's dog Pudgy :)  The base was done using China Glaze Wicked Style and the dots are NYC French White tip.  Betty and Pudgy are done using acrylic paints, aside from her lips, she's swearing Wicked Style.

Thanks for taking a peek today, hope you enjoyed it!  Have a great day!  XOXO

OPI~Yodel Me On My Cell

Hey y'all!  I am trying to go through and swatch a lot of my polishes so I hope y'all don't mind a few "older" polish swatches mixed with some new stuff.

This is OPI  "Yodel me on my cell".   It is from the Swiss Collection from Fall 2010.

This is a gorgeous shimmery teal polish.  It has great application in two coats.  Isn't it just beautiful?

Black and White and Red all over

Howdy!  Today I have a fun mani to share with y'all.  It's just a mish mash of different designs with the same colors going on.  I really love how it turned out.

I used Klean Colors White, Wet and Wild Black Creme and China Glaze Ruby Pumps.

Awww, you made me Ink

Hey y'all!  Hope you're all doing fantastic today.  I've been thinking since I've got the nubbin's going on it might be a good time to wear some dark colors and do some stamping.  Who says that you HAVE to wear bright or pastel polishes just because it's Spring?  I'm a rebel without a cause and I'll wear black if I want to.  ;)  Well, actually, today I'm wearing OPI Ink.

I got this in a swap a few months ago and this is the first time I've put it on.  I think I may be in love.  This is a gorgeous polish.  It's a dark dark blue with purple micro glitter.  In one light it looks completely blue but then you get the purple sparkles. O.M.G!!!!!

Isn't this Gorgeous?  I decided that I wanted a little something extra so I stamped on it too.   I used Bundle Monster plate BM12 and Pure Ice Silver Mercedes to stamp with.

I think this is the first time I've ever used this particular image, I likes it!  What do you think?

Showering with Motley

Hey y'all!  Hope you're enjoying your Saturday so far.  Just a lazy weekend for us.  But you know what that means?  I'm working on some fun mani's and swatches.  YAY!

Today I have a really pretty combo to share.  China Glaze Shower Together layered with Finger Paints Motley.  I just picked up Motley on clearance last week.  I was really happy to welcome her into my polish family she plays really well with others.

I thought it needed to matted, I love matted flakies!

These pics were obviously taken before my nubbin's accident. I wish my nails grew that fast lol.

I was really wishing I hadn't stamped over it after I realized it didn't stamp the whole image.  I don't know what happened.  It did stamp completely on my pinky though.  I really loved this combo and stamping.  What do you think?

Felix the Cat, the wonderful, wonderful cat

Hey ya'll.  Today I have some fun new nail art to share.  My kids have recently discovered Felix the Cat by way of Netflix. lol  Felix was a popular cartoon in the early 60's but he has easily stood the sands of time.  He's just a cute little kitty cat with a magic bag that he can turn into anything.   He's a  pretty cool cat.

This mani was done using China Glaze Sunshine Pop and Zoya Dominique as well as various acrylic paints.

Did you watch Felix when you were a child?

Purple Metallic Stamping

Hello readers!  Today I have some stamping to share.   Polishes used are Wet and Wild Black Creme and Klean Colors Purple Metallic.  I used Bundle Monster plate BM20.

The Klean Colors Metallic polishes are really fantastic for stamping.  If you like to stamp then you NEED these polishes, just sayin'.

You may have also noticed that my nails are a bit shorter than they have been :(  I had a nail catastrophe over the weekend.

It started out as just a little split right in the center, it wasn't even broken all the way through so I put some super glue on it in the hopes that I could buy some time and let it grow out.  If I had just cut it down then it wouldn't have broken so badly.  I snagged it when I was washing my hair and it ripped completely off.  Oh well, worse things could happen right?  ;)  I'll just be sporting nubbin's for a bit.  Just sucks because I had actually gotten them to a good length and shape that I liked now I'm starting over again.  :::sigh:::

Radio Super Star

Hello!  Today I have one of my new polishes to share.  This is Icing Radio Super Star and it's pretty awesome.  I used Wet and Wild Black Creme as underwear, I think it compliments Radio Super Star nicely.

This is a really nice polish with blue micro glitter and big fuchsia with sporadic holo stars.  As cute as polishes are with the big glitter like the stars are, they are also a huge pain in the butt.  I had to put the stars in place with a toothpick because it just wasn't happening when I brushed it on.   Oh well, you gotta do what you gotta do sometimes :).

Thanks for stopping by today!  XOXO

Marble Monday!

Hey ya'll!  Hope you had a fab weekend. Mine was pretty good. The hubby and I had a date night Saturday while the kids stayed at Grandma's.  In true old married people fashion, we went out to eat at like 5 PM and then walked around Books A Million and came home.  We're a wild and crazy couple I tell ya.  We did come home and watch some movies on the Netflix.  We watched Paranormal Activity 2...it scared the crap out of me.  I woke up in the middle of the night hearing noises in my kitchen.  I refused to get out of bed.  If someone is going to kill me in the middle of the night they're gonna have to go through my comforter first.  ;)

Anyways, enough of all of that.  So, a group of my polish friends and I are all posting Water Marbles today.  Make sure you check out the rest of them at the bottom of this post, they are all amazing!!!!

I chose to do a two color marble using China Glaze Shower Together and Wet and Wild Black Creme.  I actually did this Saturday evening before our date.  My hubby really liked it, he commented on it several times through out the night. :)

This came out pretty good.  I originally planned to do a neon pink and black but I couldn't get the pink to work.  I've heard neons are hard to marble with because they dry so fast.   It made me sad.  But I do love this one.  I just got Shower Together Friday and I really love it, it's a great blue cream AND the name is pretty funny too ;).

Well peeps, hope you have a great day.  Be sure to check out all of the other awesome marbles too.  XOXO

Trust Fund Baby

Hey y'all!  Today I have a really cool glitter that I got in a swap a while back.  This is Spoiled Trust Fund Baby with China Glaze Recycled as a base.

It has hex glitter in blue, gold and black and then a fuchsia square glitter.  It's really pretty, don't you think?

KKCenterHK N.Nail Stamping Review

Hello readers.  Hope you're having a great week so far.  Mine's been pretty good, ready for the weekend though.  :)

Today I have a review to share.  I was sent 2 plates and a scraper and stamp set to review by KKCenterHK.com.

They came in a padded envelope and were each individually contained in these little zip lock bags.

The plates both had a clear protective cover, it is VERY important to take this off.  ;)

The first design was done using Plate B69, which can find HERE on their website.

Polishes used were China Glaze Sweet Hook and NYX Between Mauve and Purple.

This second design was done using Plate M34, and you can find it HERE.

Polishes used were LA Colors Silver and Wet and Wild Black Creme.

I am very impressed with the quality of these plates.  They were easy to use, I had no problem with application.  That also had a lot to do with the stamper too, which you can find HERE.  It picked up the whole image every time.  The only negative thing I have to say is about the scraper.  It didn't do a very clean scrape at all.  It left a lot of polish and I wasn't able to use it to get a clean image.  The plates and stamper were perfect though.

KKCenterHK gave me a coupon code to share with my lovely followers.

Blue Skies Smiling At Me

Hello readers.  Hope you had a great weekend.  I don't know about you but I'm a little sick of looking at pastels lol.  That's pretty much all I've been wearing for the last week and I need something different.

How about a little China Glaze "Blue Years Eve" with polka dots?  This is the first time I've worn this polish and it is awesome.

I used a silver LA Colors polish and the Blue Years Eve to make double dots.    This pics don't show it very well but the LA Colors and Blue Years Eve are both really glittery and gorgeous.  They go really well together.  What do you think?

I've also been playing more with my camera and I built a light box so I don't have to use my flash all the time or have to have sun.  I'm going to start doing more swatches of the polishes I have.  If you have any tips or constructive criticism I'd love to hear it.  Anything to help me get better at this :).

Be sure to check out this awesome Giveaway for Fingers Polish Mania's Blogversary.  HERE  Whoever wins this is going to be one lucky gal.

Thanks for stopping by today, have a fantastic day!  XOXO

Happy Easter!

Hello and Happy Easter!  I hadn't planned on doing another Easter mani but I had to take off my chocolate bunny nails yesterday because they got all chipped up.  I thought I'd do a quick little post to share my official Easter nails and to wish all of you a Happy Easter or if you don't celebrate then I wish you just a happy Sunday :).

I really love this mani, I think it's really cute.  Doesn't it look like those malted egg candies?

The mani was done using China Glaze Lemon Fizz, Revlon Jaded, China Glaze Sweet Hook, China Glaze Kinetic Candy, and China Glaze Dance Baby.  Then I added a coat of Deborah Lippmann Happy Birthday, two coats of Sally Hansen Shell We Dance? and then, last but not least, Hard Candy Matte-ly In Love.  This is 6 coats of polish goodness!  :)
