MSMD: Bedazzle That Sh*t Flowers

Hello!  Today is Monkey See Monkey Do and I chose a really pretty design that I came across on Pinterest.  I clicked through to her blog, Seriously, Bedazzle that Shit on tumblr and found some more amazing designs by her.  She's very talented, so check her out.

Here's my interpretation of her flower design

I used Kleancolor White, Pure Ice French Kiss, China Glaze Kinetic Candy,  Sally Hansen Going Green and Kleancolor Neon Yellow.   I really love how this turned out, I've been staring at it all day lol.  You can see Caroine's original HERE

Thanks for stopping by today, be sure to check out all of the other participants in MSMD.  XOXO

Metallic Rainbow polka dots

Hey y'all!  A few weeks ago I bought a lot on ebay for 12 Klean Color polishes.  I got to pick the ones I wanted.  I got lots of holo glitters and metallics.  I love, love, love the Klean Color metallics.  I'm going to have them all eventually.  I'm actually starting to become a big fan of Klean Color polishes period.  They're cheap, pretty and good quality, three of my favorite things.

I decided to do a rainbow polka dot mani with some of the new ones I got and I have to say, I LOVE this mani.  It's the bee's knees, the cats meow, it rocks my socks off, you get the jist.

Do you see why I love it so much?  I LOVE these metallics, they're just awesome.  So vibrant and shiny and pretty, what's not to love about them?

I used Sinful Colors Black on Black as my base and the Polka dots are all Kleancolor Metallics; Pink,  Mango, Green, Aqua, and Fuchsia.

What do you think?  Wait...no, if you don't like it, I couldn't bear the disappoint so only tell me if you love it.  ;)  XOXO

Olympics Nails~Go Team USA!!!!

Hello!  I don't know about you but I love watching the Summer Olympics.  They are in London this year and today is the opening ceremony.  The opening ceremonies are always amazing and huge deal, I never miss it.  So, in honor of the Olympics opening day, I did a Team USA Olympics mani.  :)

It's nothing too terribly elaborate but I think it came out pretty good.  I had a hard time with the Olympic rings, I had to redo them twice lol.  The polishes used were KleanColor White with a coat of KleanColor Metallic White, NYC big apple red, Pure Ice French Kiss, KleanColor Yellow, Sinful Colors Black on Black, and Sally Hansen Going Green.

Are you excited about watching the Olympics, do you have a favorite event?

Ma-nish-ma Bolts of Blue & Electric Blue~Swatches

Hey y'all!  Today I am sharing swatches of two of my newest polish finds.  Ma.Nish.Ma Bolts of Blue and Electric Blue.  I had never seen Ma.Nish.Ma polishes before buying these.  I was at Rite Aid looking for another collection (which I still haven't found yet. boo!) and found these pretty littles on clearance for $1.50 each.

They are both Matte and they are gorgeous.  I LOVE me some blues so I wasn't going to pass them up.

This is Bolts of Blue!

And here is Electric Blue!  Please ignore my pinky, I smeared it while I was taking pics and didn't even notice until I uploaded them. :/

Gorgeous right?  I love these shades.  What do you think?  Are you as much of a fan of blues as I am?

XOXO

Special Guest Nails!

Hey y'all!  I'm really excited to share this post.  I love doing other people's nails.  All of my friends and family know I have an open door (or drawer in this case) policy when it comes to my polish and they do take advantage of it.  I have shown my Mom (here) and my daughter (here) on my blog several times.  Today I have another one of my favorite people's nails to share.   My best friend Christine.

She and I have been friends for about 13 years and we've been through a lot together.  I think one of the most exciting things that I get to share with her now is her adventure into Motherhood.  She's pregnant with TWINS!!!!  A boy and a girl and I can not wait to meet them.

She is a busy little bee getting ready for their arrival.  Getting everything just right and getting to buy all the cute little baby stuff.  Her and her husband asked me if I would paint a mural on their nursery wall and I as more than happy to oblige.  I had never painted on anyone's wall before without getting a spanking haha.  She had a really cute idea of what she wanted so she bought all the paints and brushes and I painted my first mural.

I did the sunshine, birds and clouds.  The picture frames on the side walls were also painted by me, they were a gift for their baby shower.   The frames are lyrics to "You are my sunshine".

I also did matching nail art on her :)  The base polish is Sinful colors Cinderella.  It's blue with pink glitter, perfect polish for boy and girl twins right?

I love doing nails that are inspired off of stuff like this.  Where do you go for your nail art inspiration?

Tutorial Tuesday

Howdy!  Today I'm doing a challenge with some friends and our theme was "Tutorial Tuesday".  Our challenge was to pick a tutorial and make it happen.  I chose a tutorial by Colette from My Simple Little Pleasures.  She is pretty much THE QUEEN of water marbling.  Seriously, everything I've learned about water marbling, I learned it from her.  She's the bomb.com.

She has over 70 water marble video tutorials on youtube, you can check out her youtube channel HERE.  The tutorial I used for today's mani is the Blue & Green Star Water Marble Tutorial.  I used two blues instead of a green.  The polishes I used are China Glaze Blue Years Eve and Electric Beat.  If you check out Colette's video or blog, you can see that she has long beautiful nails and the star design went on perfectly. Mine...not so much.  I came close on my thumb, but my nails just weren't long enough.  And the other nails just weren't happening for me at all. lol.  They came out pretty cool, they just don't resemble stars even a little bit.

I'm giving myself an A for effort though.  ;)  My first try was actually for a water marble heart design tutorial she has, HERE.  I failed horribly.  I didn't even get to the point where I liked my marble to put on my nails.  It just wasn't working for me.  But I WILL get it though eventually!!!!!

Thanks for stopping by today.  Be sure to check the other awesome participants of Tutorial Tuesday. XOXO

MSMD: The Daily Nail~I Wanna Do Bad Things With You

Hey y'all!  Hope you had a great weekend, I know I did.  My littles went to Grandma's for the weekend so I had a nice weekend alone with my hubby.   I got to sleep in, so that was pretty awesome.  I didn't paint my nails THE WHOLE WEEKEND. Blasphemy!!!

Anyhoo, it's Monday so that means it's time for another Monkey See Monkey Do mani.  I chose one of my biggest nail art idols to copy cat today, The Daily Nail.  She is so amazingly talented and apparently not only do we have nail art in common but her favorite show is also True Blood.  I think we should be BFF's. And I say that in a totally not stalker way.  ;)

She did a really bad ass True Blood mani back in 2010, it's actually how I even found her.  I googled True Blood nail art and her awesome mani came up.  I was hooked on her blog right then and there.

Here is my rendition of her "I wanna do bad things with you" mani.

I used Klean Color White, Sinful Colors Black on Black and Wet and Wild Caught Red Handed. The only thing I wish I could change is my red.  I thought it was dark enough but it didn't photograph very dark.  :/

Click HERE for The Daily Nail's original post.

Be sure to check out the other participants in MSMD Monday too!!!

NOTD: Nails Inc. Donmar over Chelsea

Hey ya'll!  just a quick post to share my nails of the day.  I'm wearing Nails Inc. Donmar over Nails Inc. Chelsea. I got these in a set at Sephora during our Spring Break vacation in March and this is my first time actually wearing them. I've swatched them on one finger but this is my first time actually wearing them on all 10 fingers lol.

Naturally, I'm wearing it matted ;)

This is Chelsea before I put on the flakies.  It's a REALLY dark dark redish purple color.  It's very pretty.

Avengers Nail Art

Hey y'all!  A while back one of my good friends requested that her friend wanted to see some Avenger's nails.  So of course, I'm more than happy to oblige.  I had planned on doing them a while back when the movie came out but I never got around to it. The movie was pretty awesome though.  My hubby and I saw it on our anniversary weekend.

I'm really happy with how it came out.  Hulk is my favorite!  L to R we have Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk and Thor (who looks pretty generic lol).  I wish I would have taken a picture of my first Captain America, he looked a whole lot like Sloth from the Goonies.  :P

The polishes used are:  Iron Man: Sally Hansen Red Zin, Sally Hansen Golden-I; Captain America: Pure ice French Kiss; Hulk: China Glaze Gaga for Green with two coats of Spoiled Permission to Proceed; Thor: Pure Ice Silver Mercedes.  I use white and black acrylic paints and a small mix of paints for the flesh tones.

Which Avenger is your favorite?  I know there are several other's that I didn't put on my nails this time but I figured these were probably the ones most people liked anyways?!  Thanks for checking out my Avengers post today, hope you enjoyed it.  XOXO

Sally Hansen Magnetics Swatches

Hey y'all!  I posted a few weeks about the new Sally Hansen Magnetics collection that recently came out and their nail contest they're having. (you can view it HERE). Well, I got them yesterday in the mail and they are even more awesome in person.  The colors are so bright and pretty, I love them.

Graphite Gravity

Red-y Response

Polar Purple

Kinetic Copper

Golden Conduct

Ionic Indigo

Electric Emerald

Silver Elements

I love these so much and they're so easy to use.  Magnetic polish has already reminded me of Tiger Eye marbles I used to play with as a kid.   I really love Red-y Response and Ionic Indigo, those are my two favorites.  Which one is your favorite?

These products were sent to me for review.

Glitter nails

Hey y'all!  I'm sorry I've been slacking the last few days.  I try to post something every day but sometimes it's just impossible to do.  I haven't even painted my nails since Friday, it makes me sad.  I have some new polishes to swatch, so hopefully I can do that today.

Today I am going to share something I did last week.  I've seen a few posts lately with Rock Star Nails and I've been kind of obsessed with them.  No, I didn't do Rock Star Nails, I'm not that cool.  But I did try using loose glitter for the first time.   I got this green powder glitter from Julep when I got my first (and last) box a while back and this was the first time I'd been inspired to use it.

You can't tell too much, it as REALLY sparkly.  I used Revlon Jaded as my base and when it was still wet I pressed my finger into the little glitter jar and Voila!

I put a couple of coats of clear coat on it and honestly I didn't like it as much as I did without it.  I wasn't shiny but it was SO sparkly!!!!

I really want to get some more glitters now, I'm going to have to make a trip to Michaels soon!  Have you ever used loose glitter like this?  What did you think?

XOXO

NOTD: Fishtail / Braided nails

Hey y'all! I wanted to do something a little special today for my nails because my Mom is getting married.  I saw a photo on pinterest the other day with a pink, grey and white color scheme and I really liked it so I wanted to do something with those colors on my nails.  So I decided to do a Fishtail or Braided mani, whatever you want to call it.

I used Pure Ice White, China Glaze Recycled and Essie Off the Shoulder.

I'm still not 100% on whether I actually like it.  I wish I had chosen a different pink.  A more pink, pink.  Off The Shoulder is more coral than pink, I think.  I have it on now, we'll see if it makes it to the actual wedding this afternoon haha.  I have Off the Shoulder on my toes so I thought it would be cute to match the nail art with the toes.

Thanks for stopping by today, hope you have a wonderful Saturday!  XOXO

Born Pretty Store Nail Art Striping Tape Review

Hello!  Today I have the Born Pretty Store's Nail Art Striping Tape to review for you guys.  This is my first set of striping tape so I was super excited to get to try them out.

I got the 12 Color Line Nail Art Striping Tape Design Lines set, you can view it HERE among tons of other nail art supplies.

This is the whole set in their individual packaging sleeves.

This is a strip of each individual tape to show you the colors a little better, there's a white one on the right but you can't see it on the paper too well. The blue and one of the pinks has a glittery sheen to it, they're very pretty.

They are very thin, which is perfect for striping nail art.

I used 5 different colors and did a rainbow stripe design.

I stuck one end where I wanted it on my nail and kept it on the roll until I  rolled enough out and cut it straight from the roll  onto the nail. I tried cutting the piece off and putting it on my nail but that way just wasn't working right for me.  I had more control over where the tape went if I kept it on the roll while I was getting it in place.

I was really pleased with how easy it was use this striping tape, I can't wait to do more designs with it.  It's a good price too, the whole set is $8.99 and FREE SHIPPING for anywhere in the world.   They have tons of great deals on nail art supplies, polish, nail care supplies, make up and lots of other products as well.  They even have a section with nothing but Hello Kitty merchandise!!!!!

They were nice enough to give me a 7% off coupon to share with my readers too.  Be sure to check out Born Pretty Store.

This product was sent to me for review for my honest opinion.
