Let the Good times Roll!!!! Mardi Gras season is upon us and what a festive season it is. Parades, beads, king cakes and just all around fun times.

Today is the Krewe of Centaur parade here and I decided to do my nails for the fun day ahead.

I thought I'd do something a little different too and show you the process.

These are all of the paints, polishes and tools used for this nail art. Polishes used are (L to R): NYC French White tip, LA colors glitter, Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Going Green, Zoya Ivanka, Kleancolors Metallic Purple, Sinful Colors I love you, Sinful Colors This is it and Seche Vite Topcoat.

I started with the French Tip White and a coat of the LA Colors Glitter and on the thumb a duo of Going Green with Ivanka on top and Metallic Purple with I love you on top.

Then I did the masks with Acrylic paints

And then the beads I did with a small dotting tool and Ivanka, Metallic Purple and This is it.

The Fleur Di Lis was hand painted first with yellow paint and then I did a coat of This Is It.

And the end result again

I broke my middle finger nail yesterday so I'm sporting nubbins again for a while. I couldn't make myself cut them all down so short, hopefully they won't be uneven for long.

What's A happenin' Hot Stuff!

Howdy! Is this week like seriously dragging for anybody else, it's the week that never ends. Although it has been pretty fantastic for me, had several things that happened that made me happy. For One thing, yesterday I bought my domain address, now instead of my blogspot web address, it is now AmberDidIt.com I'm super excited about that. It only cost me $3.15 too, deal of the century.

Another exciting thing is that I was asked by my friend Briana from Nail A College Drop Out to do a guest post for Valentines Day. You can check out the post HERE. Make sure you take a look around her blog too, she's awesome!

For her post I did a cute little Devil mani, it turned out way cute if I do say so myself. Flowers and roses and candy are nice and sweet and all, but sometimes we want something a little hotter, right? Being bad can be good!!! ;)

For this design I used NYC Black Creme and Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow for the bases and various acrylics craft paints with Seche Vite top coat.

Is this hot or what? :)

Another Pink Wednesday is upon us. :)

I am wearing Sinful Colors Pink Forever with Klean Colors Metallic Red stamped on top.

I had a little smearing when I put the top coat on, I was just using some generic brand I just happened to have in my stamping box. From far away you can't tell, feel free to get up and stand a few feet away from your computer screen so it'll look better ;).

Pink Forever is really a great pink, I love it!

Minnie Mouse!

Howdy!

Happy Monday, hope it was a good one for you! :) Today I have a really cute Minnie Mouse mani to share.

This was kind of the spur of the moment nail art. I did the dots first and I thought "Hey, this looks like Minnie Mouse" so I took the polish off my ring finger and did a Minnie accent.

I used Wet and Wild Megalast in Caught Red Handed and NYC French white tip for the polka dots and craft paint for Minnie.

And do you see the smudging? Yeah, that's all thanks to Julep "fast dry" top coat. You might think I put it on while it was still wet, but no, it was dry a good 45 minutes to an hour before I ever ever got around to putting the topcoat on. :/ This also happened when I used it over stamping and it's hardly a fast dry, so it gets a big red F from me. Glad I only paid a penny for it, it normally retails for $14 and you only get 8ml. I will definitely be sticking to Seche Vite from now on, I get it for about $9 and get almost twice the amount as the Julep and it actually WORKS!!!!

Anyhoo, sorry for my little rant lol It's just irritating to spend time on nail art and it get screwed up. If my rant helps someone else's art not get screwed up, then it's all for a good cause. ;)

Sunday Football Series #20~ Superbowl Edition

Howdy! Are you ready for some football?

This is my final post in my Football Series, I actually made it all the way through something. Go me! lol

Today is Superbowl XLVI (don't ask me the actual number cuz I have no idea! lol) The New York Giants Vs. New England Patriots. Since I have already done the Giants and Patriots both twice in the series I decided to do something different.

Instead of the teams, I just did one in honor of the actual Superbowl and NFL.

(please excuse my growdy cuticles, I should have put some lotion or something on but I was in a hurry to take pics in the daylight and take it off before I went to church lol)

My husband was the biggest player in this design, he even drew it out for me and everything :). I was also inspired by this ad.

I did 20 mani's in the series, here is a collage of all of the teams I did.

I think my favorites were Green Bay, Tampa Bay, and The Jaguars. Do you have a favorite?

I really enjoyed doing these every week, I hope y'all enjoyed them as well. :) Thanks for all of the ideas, team requests and love I've gotten from these over the last 20 or so weeks. Y'all have been awesome!!!!

I used Sally Hansen Yellow Mellow and NYC Little Italy for the polka dots. The rest is acrylic paints.

Go Red for Women!

Howdy!

Today is National Wear Red Day, in honor of the fight for women with heart disease.

I am wearing red today in memory of my Mamaw Jimmie. She passed away in July 2003 due to heart complications.

(I am wearing Crawfish Boil, a Franken by Amy from Nail-Venturous. I will be posting with more swatches soon, this polish is AWESOME)

This is for my Mamaw and all of the women that have passed away or are living with heart disease. There isn't an age stipulation on this either, it happens to young women too. The best thing we can do for ourselves is live as healthy of a life as we can and get regular check ups. Know the signs of a heart attack and know your risk factors. It does "just happen" sometimes but it's also something that can be prevented.

Howdy!

I hope you can stand more pink! :) Today I get to share the best water marble I've ever done. I think I finally found the trick to making it work for me. THE WATER!

I have been trying water marbling for months now and it just wasn't happening for me. It would always dry in the water before I'd even get finished making the bulls eye to make the swirly designs. I have tried it at every temperature I could stand and finally today I tried boiling the tap water and letting it cool. Apparently there's something about our tap water that just wasn't jiving with the polish. It worked perfectly! YAY!

I still have some practicing to do with the swirling part but this is as about as perfect as I've ever done. I am really happy with it and its PINK!!!!

I used China Glaze Go Go Pink, Avon Tropical punch and Sinful Colors Pink forever.

And keeping with the pink, how about a little song? ;)

My daughter learned this song in Pre-K, it was my favorite color song along with RED. R-E-D red, R-E-D, I can spell red. Fire trucks are red, stop signs are red too. R-E-D. :)

Howdy!

In keeping with my "Pink Week" today I was inspired by one of my favorite books to read to my kids. "Pinkalicious".

"Pinkalicious" is by Victoria and Elizabeth Kann and they have a whole series of cute books. If you have a little girl, or boy for that matter, you should definitely go to your local library and pick up a copy and snuggle up and read this one together. It's a lot of fun!

Her face is a little wonky but I still think it's cute! lol

My base is Wet and Wild Flirty Rose Creme and I stamped with Sinful Color Pink forever. Other colors used are Avon Tropical Punch, Wet and Wild Tickled Pink, NYC Pink Promenade Creme and various acrylic paints.

Howdy! Day 2 of the pink, yay!

Today I'm wearing China Glaze Go Go Pink with a coat of NYX Dynamite Glitter.

I got a lot of compliments on this today. It's so light and glittery, it's just pretty.

As I was choosing what to wear today I pulled out all of the pinks I have.

All of this pink makes me think of one of my favorite movies, "Steel Magnolias". If you have never seen it, I urge you to run not walk and get a copy, it's the greatest chick flick ever. And it's FULL of pink.

Howdy! So, I decided today that I will be devoting this week to PINK. I'm just feeling the need for bright and fun and pretty. I know technically the week started yesterday but lets play pretend...lol.

Today I have a fun and super bright pink with some super girly zebra hearts. I used China Glaze Pool Party and It is FAB-U-LOUS.

I also haz the nubbin's going on right now, sadness :(

I haven't decided what I'll be wearing tomorrow, I know it'll be pink though. :)

I used Claire's Midnight and stamped with Pure Ice Silver Mercedes then added a top coat of Hard Candy Matte'ly In Love.

This stamping image reminds of some henna designs I've seen. I really love it!

OMG, Tie Dye!

Howdy and Happy Monday! I had a pretty good weekend, we mostly vegged out and watched TV and played Super Mario Bros. on the Wii lol. We did have some really nice weather though, it stayed sunny and in the 70's to almost 80 degrees so we were outside a lot and took the kids to the park. I actually had to turn my a/c on yesterday...IN JANUARY. o.O Crazy Louisiana weather!

So, I've been playing more with the needle art and I must say, I'm loving it more and more.

I have seen this done before and I always loved it so i decided to give it a try myself. TIE DYE!

For this design I used NYC French White Tip, NYC Big Apple Red Creme, Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow, LA Colors blue, and Claire's Midnight and of course my handy dandy straight pin!

I don't know why I've become so obsessed with this nail art design, probably because it's so AWESOME. Stayed tuned because I'm sure there will be more needle nail art to come, I have lots of color combos rolling around in my head lol.

Sunday Football Series #19~Playoff Edition

Howdy! We are in the final stretch of the NFL season, today is the last day of playoffs. Sadly, none of "my" teams made it to the playoffs. :( Last weekend was pretty depressing, watching my Saints get beat by the 49ers was sad for me, they played a hell of a game though.

In the NFC Championship game is the San Francisco 49ers (booo!) and the New York Giants.

In the AFC Championship game is the Baltimore Ravens and the New Englad Patriots.

Howdy! I have some great swatches to share today. I was sent the Sally Hansen Crackle Overcoat Polishes to review. I had a lot of fun playing with all of the different colors.

This is Ink Splatter and Snow Blast. They both had great coverage and a nice crackle. I was surprised that I liked Snow Blast so much, I am not usually a fan of white on my nails but I love this.

Next is Distressed Denim and Cherry Smash. These are both great vibrant colors, but I had to do a thick coat to get them to be opaque. The thinner the coat the better the crackle.

This is Vintage Violet and Fuchsia Shock. Fuchsia Shock (the pink) is a nice bright color and has a nice crackle. I'm still up in the air about Vintage Violet, it is a pretty color and a bit of a duo chrome but it's pretty sheer.

And lastly we have Antiqued Gold and Fractured Foil. These are both fantastic and glittery and would look good over just about any color. They have great crackling and overall are just very pretty.

I haven't done a pink Wednesday in a while so I thought I'd do one today. I love this mani too, ever since I posted the needle marbling the other day I have been completely obsessed with it. I've been a needle marbling fool lol.

My base color is Wet and Wild Flirty Rose and the tips are done in Avon Tropical Punch. I am seriously loving this design, it looks like pink flames! Yay! You can never have too much pink. :)

Plaid is the new Black

Howdy!

I did a little stamping today and I really love it. I used Konad plate m60 and made a pretty cool looking plaid and a cute accent nail.

I used China Glaze Recycled as my base then I stamped Pure Ice Silver Mercedes then stamped again using Pure Ice Black Rage. The flower is stamped using the same plate and Silver Mercedes too and I added a little black rhinestone to the center.

I just love how this turned out!

I just got it this last week and I love it, I didn't have anything like it. I got it in my Prize Package for winning the top prize in one of my polish groups Fantasy Football league.

I chose Deborah Lippman Happy birthday and China Glaze Recycled. I had SO much fun playing fantasy football, I am definitely hooked.

Blue Dog Nails

Today I have nails inspired by one of my favorite Louisiana Artists, George Rodrigue. He is famous for his Oak Tree paintings and my personal favorites, The Blue Dog.

I love the bright colors and designs of his blue dog paintings, they're just so fun and the blue dog is just so stinkin' cute.

Rainbow Needle Marble

I tried a new nail art design this weekend that I hadn't done before. Needle Marbling. I was inspired by THIS post by Jacki from Adventures in Acetone. I love how hers turned out, I'm still not sure how I feel about mine.

I used NYC French tip white for the base, the colors are NYC Greenwich Village, Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow, Pure Ice Wild Thing, Sinful colors why Not, and Julep Helena with a coat of LA Colors glitter on top.

It's not my favorite design, I just don't think I'm feeling it. What do you think?

Sunday Football Series #18~Denver Broncos

Howdy!

I'm posting this today because the Broncos are playing tonight so I just thought it would be appropriate! If they win tonight they go on to the last playoff game before the superbowl.

This week was a really easy pick for me. I wanted to do a team that was in the playoffs that I hadn't done yet and the Denver Broncos were the only ones left. Next week may be hard for me...I don't want to have to do a team that sucks, but I'll take one of the team lol. It's actually getting hard for me now because I feel like I'm cheating on the Saints if I represent another team while we're in the playoffs. lol

I don't mean to take the spotlight off this post...the Denver Broncos.

This is actually the first time in the series that I did a player number but I love Tim Tebow!

I used Wet and Wild 9.0.2.1.Orange and NYC Skin tight denim and acrylic paints. I love how this turned out, the Broncos logo is pretty awesome looking.

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star

Howdy!

Hope everyone is doing well! I'm doing better, finally got my stitches out yesterday, YAY! My finger still has some healing to do. It's still rocking my Christmas mani almost 3 weeks later lol. I will say this much Color Club has some major staying power, there's only a little chipping. I know it's been bandaged up and has barely seen the light of day but I'm still impressed. I think my pinky is getting depressed though, she feels sad that she's not as pretty as her sisters anymore and has be covered up and doesn't get to change her polish. I told her she's perfect the way she is, but deep down I feel her pain...like literally I feel her pain. ;)

Today her sisters are dressed up extra pretty. I finally used of the Claire's polishes my hubby gave me for Christmas, Twinkle Twinkle. It's a gorgeous blue jelly with Blue glitter and it is DA BOMB. It may be one of my new favorites.

Once I put it on I decided it needed something a little extra to go along with the name so I stamped some stars and added a little extra silver glitter over the stars. Twinkle, Twinkle little star is very fitting.

I LOVE this glitter polish, it's fabulous. I used Claire's Twinkle Twinkle, then stamped using Bundle Monster plate BM14 with Pure Ice Silver Mercedes and used a tiny dotting tool to put Pure Ice Beware, silver glitter, on the stars. I really love this mani!

Howdy!

Today is the BCS title game between the LSU and Alabama. I am actually not a big follower of college football, but I do have A LOT of friends that are huge LSU fans so this is for all of them. :)

Only two more Sundays of the series then we'll have a break until the SUPERBOWL. Today I chose the Houston Texans, who won their game yesterday against Cincinnati so they're still in the playoffs, so yay for them.

I used Pure Ice Silver Mercedes and NYC Skin tight denim for my bases and the rest is acrylic paints.

Nascar Nails!

Howdy!

A while back on my facebook page I asked if anyone had any nail requests and I had one for Nascar Nails from my cousin. I have absolutely zero knowledge of Nascar so this took some googling to get done lol.

Her favorite driver is Dale Earnhart Jr. so I knew I had to incorporate him. It turned out pretty good I think, love all the colors and designs on the cars. They are inspiring.

Howdy!

I put on Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow as a base this morning with a completely different idea in mind but it never manifested lol. So as I was sitting on the couch tonight catching up on my guilty pleasure, "Teen Mom 2" I decided to try something I've been wanting to try since I first started seeing it on the nail blogs... swirl roses!

I really love this design, it's so simple and it looks SO cute.

I used Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow as my base, NYC Greenwich Village as the base of the rose, with Wet and Wild tickled pink as the accent in the rose, and Sally Hansen Going Green for the leaves.

It reminds of a dress I had when I was a little girl. :)

Howdy! I'm trying to get back in the swing of things since my finger is starting to feel better. I actually went back to the doctor today to get my stitches out but they're still in for another week so it can finish healing. Good news is everything is actually healing so I will still have a fingerprint, yay! lol

Anyhoo, over the weekend my husband and I went to Canton, TX to their huge Trades Day weekend. If you don't know anything about Canton, it's this HUGE piece of land with all kinds of different vendors and booths. They have everything you can possibly imagine, it's the largest in the world. They have it every month and people come from all over the country to sell their goods. There's antiques, furniture, toys, clothing boutiques, crafts, just everything you can imagine. Oh, and I can't forget all the good food booths. I had the best burger in the world, I know it was the best burger in the world because that's what their sign said ;). It was a good burger though.

I digress, so we walked around for about 7 hours and as we were getting ready to walk back to our car I came across a booth that made me extremely happy. It was a whole Konad booth. I had never seen Konad for sale anywhere other than on the interwebs. I didn't have any Konad either so I HAD to buy something. I only bought two plates though because their prices were a little steep($8 a plate). I know I could buy them cheaper online but I bought them anyways just to say I did lol.

I used one for the first time today. I don't know if it's all in my head but I think I like Konad better than the bundle monster plates I have. I normally have hell getting them to transfer right but the Konad plate was almost perfect.

I used Wet and Wild Gray's Anatomy as my base, it was my first time using this lovely duo chrome. I had a very hard time trying to capture it when it was shimmering green though :(. It's pretty nice, I had to use 4 coats to get it even semi opaque though, it's very sheer. And I used Pure Ice Black Rage to stamp and I used Konad plate m64.

I've also discovered the cons that come along with having a decent camera...it shows every flaw and gross dry cuticle I have and apparently I have a lot. Haha.

I got the Blues!

Howdy! This is my 2nd post of the New Year, yay! Happy New Year! Today I am going to show you what I actually wore on New Years Eve, it's a few days late but better late than never right? :)

I had an idea of what I wanted to wear, I knew I wanted to wear a blue with a silver glitter gradient but the problem was, WHICH BLUE????? I have way more blues in my stash than any other color so I picked several and while my kiddos were riding their new bikes I sat outside and went to swatchin' to decide which Blue was THE ONE.

This was my little set up I had going. I used a hat box lid to hold everything in my lap.

Here's what I had to decide between. Please, ignore that I didn't do any clean up yet. ;)

I love, love, love ALL of these blues, but in the end it was Orly Sweet Peacock that brought in the new year with me.

I hope my other polishes aren't listening right now, but Sweet Peacock is my very favorite polish that I bought last year. It's just gorgeous!

Sunday Football Series #16~Cincinnati Bengals

Howdy! For those of you that dont know, this weekend marks the last of the regular season games, so I'm almost done with my series. I have really had a lot of fun doing this and I can't wait to see who I get to pick for the Superbowl. I know who I'm HOPING to do again, but we shall see. :)

Anyhoo, this week I chose the Cincinnati Bengals. Honestly, the main reason I chose them was so I could do the tiger stripe lol.

I used Sally Hanson Sunkissed as my base, which is actually the only orange polish I own. I need to do something about that soon because I was literally scraping the bottom to do just these 5 fingers. Its an older polish, pre-addiction. lol. I do like how it turned out, I am not much of a Bengals fan myself, but I like their colors. ;)

Yay, I painted my nails today!

Hello readers, hope you're having a fantastic week. Things are getting better with me, I finally got to paint my nails after the Christmas Day Finger Massacre. My pinky is still the same as what it was on Christmas day though, I'm sure it's going to stay that way for a while lol. But you cant see it so nobody knows that it doesn't match. It has Color Club Hot like Lava with a coat of Pure Ice Beware on top on it in case you're wondering lol.

I've also been playing with my new camera, I still have a lot of things to learn about taking good hand pics and lots to learn about my camera too. I also want to forewarn that I did not do a very good clean up job before I took these, they look a little bit of a hot mess. I'm learning as I go, I really want to make this the best blog I can so please bear with me and I welcome any tips or constructive criticism. :)

So, onto my mani, unfortunately there's no nail art, I can barely write my name muchless do anything decent on my nails at the moment lol. Just a simple cream and an awesome glitter polish.

I used two coats of NYX Between Mauve and Purple and 2 coats of Nicole OPI One Less Lonely Glitter, I think these work really well together and I LOVE LOVE LOVE this glitter, it's awesome.

Christmas Goodies!

Howdy! I'm doing a little better today, minimal pain but I'm not able to really use my hand too much. I have a gross chipped mani going on that completely horrifies me but my right hand has so many tiny scratches that I'm scared to get acetone anywhere near it. o.O Oh well, maybe in a few days, its not hurting constantly anymore so that's all that matters.

Anyhoo, I thought I'd share my awesome nail goodies that I got for Christmas. My hubby picked me out 14 new polishes, he did pretty good :)

One of my favorite gifts I got was a new Camera YAY!!!!! No more craptastic cell phone pics, I'm so excited! Hopefully my hand will be good as new in a week or so and I can get back to doing some nail art, I have some great ideas to start the new year with. :)

Ho, Ho, Ho!

(I am going to preface this by saying that if there are any weird typos I will come back and fix them later, I am medicated and tired lol)

Merry Christmas! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. My day was pretty much the crappiest Christmas EVA! We opened gifts from Santa at about 4:30 am with the kids, then by 8 I was in the emergency room getting stitches in my finger.

I was loading my dishwasher and dropped a glass and broke it and my hand was the victim. So needless to say, I felt like hell all day and then I had a bad reaction to my pain meds. It just sucked and my hand hurts. :( It could be worse though...(isnt that what people always say to make you feel better?) It doesnt really make me feel that better, it ruined my Christmas and that makes me sad because its my favorite day of the year.

My day wasn't all horrible though, I did get to see my family and they all babied me :), I got some great gifts, which I will get into in another post in a day or two when I can take pics (with my new Camera!!!!!) One of the best and most exciting parts of my day was being featured on the blog Nails Adored!

Jamie has been having a Blogger Spotlight on Sundays and today I was honored to have the spotlight. How awesome is that? You can check out my post Here.

She also featured one of my favorite Christmas mani's that i did this season. Rudolph the Rednosed Reindeer. I have been so excited to share this one!

Rudolph is one my favorite holiday movies, I've watched it every single year since I was a kid and I love being able to share it with my own kids now. I'm very proud of this mani.

I also took a photo of my base before I painted the characters, they pretty much covered it up but it sure was cute.

I did a base coat of Wet and wild Rain Check and sponged a little bit of LA Colors Wired and then stamped the snowflakes using bundlemonster plate BM14 with NYC french tip white and Pure Ice silver mercedes. I love how this turned out, it would be a shame to have it covered it up if it weren't for the fact that Rudolph turned out so awesome lol.

Hello readers! Merry Christmas! For me this is a time to reflect on the reason to celebrate Christmas, the birth of Jesus. I know it can be a sketchy time for a lot of people because we want to do our best to be politically correct and not offend anyone. In the nail art world I've seen a lot of manis with reindeer and Santa, Christmas trees, Christmas tree lights and even snowflakes and snowmen. All cute fun and happy mani's. I was searching for Nativity scene pictures the other day and I came across this fantastic manicure done by Topcoatit and I thought YES beautiful! Usually I stamp my mani's using the various different stamping image plates but this one I did all by hand using a few dotting tools and nail art paints.

It didn't take me near as long as I thought it would and honestly it was much easier than I thought as well. After I showed it off to my nail polish friends, the wonderful Amber asked me to guest post on her blog today--she is a sweetie and really much more talented then I am! I thank her so much for asking me to share this with you! Without further ado here is my Nativity Scene manicure. Thanks TopCoatIt for the wonderful idea.

To get this look I used a franken I made duping Starry Starry Night called Natural Law. Then I sponged China Glaze Spontaneous over that and then Hard Candy Sky at the tips. I used Hard Candy Mushroom for the manger and then white for Mary, Joseph and Jesus. Gold glitter for the star and voila!

I did a little Christmas nail art medley last night of some of my favorites that I've been seeing.

My index finger has some bleeding with the red polish on the bow and I have a few chips already, I'm really hard on my hands I guess. :/ The half moon wreath is inspired by the lovely Sarah at Chalkboard nails, her's is WAY better lol.

I'm a Julep Maven It Girl!

Howdy!

This weekend after hearing about the promotion Julep was having for one cent start up, I decided to give it a try. That's definitely a sale I can afford ;). Seeing a 1 cent charge in my account was pretty funny haha.

I ordered Saturday evening and recieved it today (Wednesday) so the shipping was pretty quick. It shipped out on Monday.

Here's what I got in my "It girl" box:

From left to right the polishes are; Fast Dry topcoat, Helena, Chloe and Kim. I also got a Green glitter pot and samples of their SPF 30 Hand cream and Age defying Hand brightener.

My nails were already nekkid so I went ahead and swatched each polish on a nail. As far as I can tell they have great coverage, each polish only took two coats to be completely opaque. The fast dry top coat is just kind of "meh". I put it over the Chloe and it doesn't smooth it out very well like a lot of top coats do, even after two coats and it's not very shiny in my opinion and I'm still up in the air about the "fast dry" part. I'll give it another go later though when I have time to sit down and swatch it for reals.

The glitter pot is interesting, I only played with it for a minute on one nail, it is a really pretty color, it's a really fine glitter powder. I've never used loose glitter before, so it should be fun to play with. :)

I haven't been buying much this month at all, with Christmas here it's hard to justify buying for myself. Last night I did get a few new polishes while at the Dollar Tree though, I'm crazy like that. They had a bunch of two packs of NYC quick dry polishes so I bought two.

L to R: Times Square, Greenwich Village, Midtown, and Little Italy. I love NYC polishes, they're one of my favs, they normally run 1.99 at Walmart and I paid $2 for all 4. Yay!

Sunday Football Series #15~Indianapolis Colts

Okay, pretend for a minute that it's not Monday and it's actually Sunday ;).

This week I chose the Indianapolis Colts. Congrats to them on their first win of the season :/. Poor Peyton Manning, I miss him.

I did a splatter using a LA Colors blue and little bit of silver. I LOVE splatter mani's, they are so cute and so much fun to do, it's one of my favorite techniques. :)

Sunday Football Series #14~Baltimore Ravens

I apologize for being late, I did this mani on time, BUT I never got around to posting it. Last week was such a busy week and me and my kids have been sick to boot. FUN times! This week is probably not going to be much better though, it'll be better after the holidays though so don't give up on me :).

Anyhoo, last week my friend Lori suggested The Ravens. I LOVE how it turned out, I think it is pretty awesome.

I really hate that the pic isn't better, I did a lot of really good detail work on the ring finger Raven, he looked way awesome. This cellphone pic doesn't do it justice I assure you. (Hopefully I won't be saying that much anymore after Christmas ;) , hoping to get a new Camera!)

This was the first time I did the fishtail/braid, I used THIS tutorial by Rebecca from Rebecca Likes Nails. I love the way it looks, I want to do it again.

That was LAST weeks Sunday mani, THIS weeks won't be posted until tomorrow when I can take a picture outside lol. It's pretty cute, but fairly simple and I did one of my favorite techniques. :) Stay tuned.

Day 4~Candy Canes

Hello my lovelies, hope you're having a fantabulous weekend. Today is Day 4 for me, Candy canes!

I did peppermints, but it's the same thing basically;)

I used NYX Girls Woman for the red and the white is actually acrylic paint because all of the whites I had are getting really gunky and polish thinner isn't doing much for it. There is also a coat of LA Colors glitter but I have no clue what the name is.

This is also my rarely seen right hand, my nails and cuticles look like hell I know.

Ohhhhh FUDDDGGGEE!!!!!

Howdy! Today I'm on Day 3 of the 12 days of Christmas Challenge. A Christmas Story. You know the movie, with Ralphie who really wants a Official Red Ryder Carbine-Action Two-Hundred-Shot Range Model Air Rifle and everybody keeps telling him "You'll shoot your eye out!". Yeah, That Christmas Story! ;)

This one was really fun to do, I love this movie and I love that TBS shows it over and over for 24 hours straight starting Christmas Eve.

On the Index finger we have Ralphie's friend Flick who was Triple Dog Dared to stick his tongue to the pole and got stuck. Middle we have Ralphie in his pink bunny pajamas that his Aunt Clara gave him, heehee. Ring we have the infamous Major Award in all her glory. And Pink is the box that that the Major Award came in, and it's pronounce Fra-gee-lee. ;)

This next photo is of my bases, I just thought it looked pretty so I thought I'd share it too. The Red is Finger Paints Curators Crimson and the yellow is China Glaze Lemon Fizz. It was just so bright and fun.

The Nutcracker!

Howdy peeps!

Yesterday my kids and I and some friends went to see The Nutcracker Ballet. It was SO good. None of us had ever been before and it was quite an experience. It was so much fun. It was put on by the Shreveport Metropolitan Ballet and they did such an amazing job, it was awesome.

We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves at the ballet. My kids were very entertained. They were introduced to men in tights which, naturally, brought on fits of laughter. I tried to give my daughter the stink eye when she started giggling when the Prince came out in his white tights but it's hard to keep a straight face when you KNOW why they're laughing. She leans over and says "You can see that guy's butt". And well, you COULD, those tights left very little to the imagination lol. I will say this much though, he looked good in his tights, just sayin'. ;)

I am so glad we went, we definitely made some good memories :).

Okay, on to the 'good stuff', you KNOW I did my nails for the occasion ;)

I am loving my little nutcracker man, he's too cute. The red is Curator's Crimson with a coat of Pure Ice Beware, silver glitter on top. The nutcracker is done with acrylic paints with a base coat of a Franken made by my friend Laurie Nievin called Natural Law. It's a dark blue jelly with silver glitter, it's gorgeous and I plan on swatching it soon in all it's glory, it's a beauty.

I love how this turned out, it's pretty cool if I do say so myself, what do you think?

The red base is Finger Paints Curators Crimson and the rest is acrylic paints. I had a LA Colors blue polish on my thumb it didn't match the patriot blue so I painted over it in paint.

The Christmas season that is! :) Did you do any shopping on this fine Black Friday? I didn't myself but I did do some nails in honor of Black Friday.

My index finger is inspired by a tutorial that Robin Moses posted last year, I found it a few days ago and thought it was adorable.

You really can't see it but there's a lot of glitter and shimmer involved in this mani.

The polishes used are NYX Woman, LA Colors Live, Zoya Ivanka, and Color Club Antiquated as well as numerous acrylic craft paints.

Hope everyone in the states had a great Thanksgiving and everybody else I hope you had a great Thursday :).

I had a great day with my family, ate and ate and ate. I made a pumpkin cheesecake that was DA BOMB! I'm actually not a big fan of Turkey, but my Uncle fried our turkey and it was also da bomb. lol

Anyhoo, to the point, my NAILS, because lets be honest, you don't care that I pigged out on cheesecake and fried turkey, you came to see some nails. The nails do involve some turkey it's just not a fried one. It is a cute turkey though.

I used Jacki's tutorial from Adventures in Acetone.

I'm sorry the pics are SO bad, only one more month of bad pics I promise. Well, at least horrible pics, I can't promise that I'll become a professional photographer, I'll just have a WAY better camera. ;)

Hello my lovelies!

This week is Thanksgiving and my kids are on a week long break from school and they are always BORED no matter what we do. lol They think they need to be entertained from the time they get up to the time they go to bed.

My daughter is ALWAYS begging me to let her paint my nails so I finally gave in and let her do her thing. Naturally my son wanted in on whatever she was doing so she did one hand and he did one. They turned out pretty cute.

Sunday Football Series #11~Carolina Panthers

Happy Sunday to ya! I'm sorry I have been slacking this week, I haven't posted since last Sunday. Just been an off week I guess.

This week for my football series I picked the Carolina Panthers. Well actually this was picked by one of my awesome readers Aunt Heathee. Hope you like it! :)

I did a tape mani on the three fingers and used my new Orly Sweet Peacock, I think this is my new favorite, it is gorgeous. I also used NYC Black Lace creme and Sinful Colors Why Not as well as black and white acrylic paints.

In the midst of working on this mani, the Panthers won their game so GO PANTHERS!!!! :)

TGIF!!!!! Good morning, hope everyone is well. I am so glad this week is over, one more week and we'll be on Thanksgiving break, YAYAYAYAY! I can't wait for Thanksgiving and Christmas shopping. :)

Today the mani I have to share is an awesome glitter gradient and I am loving it!

I used Color Club Cold Metal for my base, then I put a little bit of Color Club Foil me once on the tips and then put Wet and Wild Pop the Cork (the glitter) over Foil me once. I love this, it's so pretty.

That Pop the Cork has really got me wanting more glitter polish, I surprisingly don't have much...or enough lol.

Anyhoo, I'm trying to decide what team to do this Sunday for my Football series, if anyone has a team they'd like to see that I haven't done yet please feel free to leave me a comment about it!

We All Live in a Yellow Submarine

Hello lovelies! I was really excited to show this newest creation until I realized that the (crappy) camera I had been using gave up the ghost and I had to go back to using my cellphone again. I seriously hate having to show you these craptastic photos. I apologize and I promise it'll get better as soon as I can get a new camera. I'm really bummed about it honestly, it sucks to work on something for hours and the only thing I have to show for it is some crappy blurry pics. :(

Anyways, I really do LOVE how this turned out and I LOVE the Beatles! And I have had this song stuck in my head all day since I finished it lol.

I did a blue gradient on both hands using Sinful Colors Why Not and NYC Skin Tight Denim. I wish I would have take a pic before I started doing the other stuff, it was probably one of best gradients I've ever done.

Week 3~11 week challenge

This is actually from last week but I didn't post it, better late than ever right? ;) Week 3 was a mani using your favorite polish or a mani with strips and/or hearts. I picked one of my favorite polishes....

Wet and Wild Pop the Cork. I LOVE this polish, it's AMAZING and covers pretty well. This is 3 coats with full coverage. Pure awesomeness!!!!!

Today actually starts week 4, a zebra or other striped mani OR a mani with your favorite sports team or alma mater. Sounds like fun, stay tuned :).

My weekend haul

I was absolutely not going to buy a thing this payday but...I did. haha But I did hit a milestone this weekend. I am now officially in the triple digits, I own 102 bottles of polish. o.O Never in a million bazillion years would I, the lifelong nail biter, have thought I'd have this many but I do hahaha. There are just so many shades and textures out there, it's hard to choose so I think I'll just get them all. ;)

First I got this in the mail from Carrie from Reflections, Sassy Nails and Silly Diversions! for being her 100th blog follower.

She was sweet enough to send me something specifically for being her 100th follower :) I have already used the Burt's bees, it's my new purse chapstick lol. I love me some Burt's Bees stuff. Thank you Carrie!!!!

The hubby and I went to Ross Friday afternoon and I finally picked up the Foiled collection by Color Club. These are also my first CC, I want more. I am hoping they still have the mistletoe collection next time I go in. I also got a cute new purse for $15, woohoo. I love me some Ross also ;)

And then I got all of these at the Dollar Tree...except the Wet and Wild Gray's Anatomy, she came from Ulta.

Unfortunately one of these didn't make it back in the house from the photoshoot, she bit the dust, it's a sad day. Let's have a moment of silence...............................................................

Okay, that's enough, no use crying over spilled cheap polish.

I don't know if anyone has noticed but I am the queen of the cheap polishes. I love Wet and Wild, NYC, NYX Girls, Pure Ice, Sally Hansen, etc. Being a stay at home mom and only having one income makes for a frugal polishaholic. I love that my husband supports my hobby though, he's always buying me polish and showing off my pics...particularly the football ones lol. He's even been known to go to Sally's all by himself to surprise me <3 I love that man!

Sunday Football Series #9~ San Fransisco 49ers

Hello lovelies, happy Sunday. It's been a beautiful Sunday here. We went to church this morning came home and I fixed chili dogs and we watched the Cowboys game and a little bit of the Saints game too. It's been a pretty great day! :)

Anyhoo, this week for my football series I chose the San Fransisco 49ers. Well, actually I first chose the Jacksonville Jaguars but after an hour of trying to my jaguar to look right I gave up and moved on to the Colts. That was also a major fail so I threw my hands up and went to the store. Then my hubby suggested the 49ers so i went with that. Turned out pretty good I guess. I didn't use any nail polish at all except for my top coat, it's all acrylic paints. :/

Here is ONE of my jaguar fails, he just wasn't happening today, maybe I'll try again in the next couple of weeks. I'm definitely going to do the Colts again, I had some cute stuff going on but I was just having a hard time. I wasn't "in the zone". Oh well, try and try again.

Hello my lovelies! Happy Friday! Yay for the weekend. I don't know about you but this week has flown by for me, glad it's over though.

Anyhoo, yesterday I worked on this fun mani, I love me some KISS.

I did a yellow and orange gradient on my thumb before I painted KISS on.

My husband was ''fussing'' at me today because he thinks I should leave my nail art on longer instead of taking it right off after I take pictures. I don't know why I do but I rarely wear my nail art out. I guess it's because I don't do my right hand too most of the time so it doesn't look right lol. So, I decided to go ahead keep this one on for a few days. My right hand is painted with LA colors, Live, its a real cool shiny silver, almost looks like foil. I think I'm going to put black tips on later.

It really is pretty silly of me to spend hours sometimes on nail art and then just wipe it all off. I'm proud of what I do and it's fun for ME and that's really all that should matter, so what if both of my hands don't match. Who says they have to anyways? ;)

Hello my lovelies! Been slacking this week, my nails have been nekkid until today. FOR SHAAAAAME!!!!!

I had this idea rolling around in my head for a few days though. Mostly inspired by the cool looking vintage tattoo flash and Ed Hardy. I think the skull design is an Ed Hardy Design but I'm not 100% sure. The Love and hearts was me though. I love how this turned out, it's really cute. The only thing bad I have to say is really about the photos, sorry they kind of suck. I promise to have better quality pics soon. :)

I actually did some shading on the banner but the pics don't show it very much :( AND before I took pictures I broke my freaking index finger nail WAAAAH! That's my favorite nail too. Gonna have to tea bag it before I really break it off.

Hello my lovelies! I don't know about you, but nothing gets me in the Halloween spirit more than watching "It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown". I don't think I've ever went a year without watching it. And now I get to watch it with my own kids and I love that they love it too. And you can't forget the Thanksgiving and Christmas Charlie Brown's too. Charles Schulz was a genius!

So, in honor The Great Pumpkin.....

Linus has a bit of a lumpy face lol Other than that, I am very proud of this nail art, it was a lot of fun to do.

I meant to post yesterday but I never got the chance. Yesterday was my daughter, Alyvia's, 8th birthday. She had a great day being the "birthday princess" at school. I made cupcakes and took them to her class and in her own words "It was the best birthday party ever". ;)

I did them Tuesday night before bed and planned on taking better pics after school but she had them destroyed before the end of the day. By the time she got home there were no "cherries" left at all o.O. They were really cute though, her teacher even complimented me on them. :)

Week 2~11 week challenge

This week the challenge was to do a mani inspired by an upcoming holiday. The obvious choice would be Halloween, but I decided to just do a bunch of different holidays. :o)

I used a lot of acrylic paints on this one, my base coats are all polish but I did everything else in craft paint. These totally remind me of something you'd make in kindergarten with a bunch of contruction paper. Simple and cute.

Week 1~11 week challenge

In a facebook group I'm in we're doing an 11 week polish challenge. This is the first week and the challenge is to do a mani inspired by your favorite cause or charity.

I chose a cause that is very near and dear to my heart and my life, The Shriner's Hospital.

The Shriner's Hospital is a non-profit hospital for children with problems like orthopedic conditions, burns, spinal cord injuries, cleft lip and many other conditions. Any child is able to receive treatment regardless of their ability to pay.

Growing up I had always seen the Shriner's around. I saw them riding in their little cars in parades and I remember going to the Shrine circus every year. I never really knew what they were about until 2003.

My daughter, Alyvia, who will turn 8 years old next week, was born with club foot. Club foot is a deformity that completely turns the foot in to varying degrees, like she would be walking on her ankle if that makes sense. We didn't know about it until after she was born. Her pediatrician came to talk to me in the hospital the day after she was born and told us the diagnosis and before we were discharged she already had an appointment at the Shriner's Hospital in Shreveport, LA.

She was only 5 days old on her first appointment. We took her in, she had xrays and the doctor examined her thoroughly and they did her first manipulation casting. My husband went in the casting room with her the first time and I sat out in the hall and cried. I remember hearing her screaming while they were doing her casting. That is still one of the worst moments I've ever had as a mother and still makes me emotional. My baby was being hurt and there wasn't a thing I could do about it. But I'll never forget the nice man in the red hat coming to sit next to me while it was going on just to comfort me.

She went through the serial castings for about 3 1/2 months, they were changed every 2 to 3 weeks. At 4 months old she had a minor surgery that released the tendon in her heel. She wore a hard cast (it was hot pink ;) ) for 4 weeks and then she was put in a pair of shoes called a Dennis Brown bar. It was a pair of shoes that were held in place by a red bar. She wore that 23 hours a day until she was about 10 months old and then she only wore it at night until she was a year old.

We spent a pretty good bit of her first year of life at that hospital, it really felt like family. She still has "check ups" once a year but she is as perfect as can be thanks to the doctors and people that make the Shriners hospital possible.

All the children that go in and out the doors of that hospital get the best care possible...for FREE. The men in red hats walking around just being helpful, playing with the kids, being a shoulder to cry on for the parents. It's really an amazing place and I am so thankful that there is a place like that for children and families in need. I am so thankful for the Shriner's Hospital.

Nightmare on Elm St. I seriously love how this turned out and I better because this one hand took me almost 3 hours to do hahaha. I did it and redid it, particularly the middle and pinky fingers, I couldn't decide on a design for those that I liked.

Weekend Haul, YAY!

I found the motherload of cheap polishes this weekend, NYX Girls for $1.19, Kleancolors for $1 and Milani 3D's for $2.99. I had never seen NYX or the 3d's in any other stores around here so I was really excited.

These are Dorothy, Frizzy Spots, Between Mauve and Purple, Black Plum, Sea of Cortez, and Woman.

I believe Dorthy is a dupe of Deborah Lipmann Ruby Red Slippers, it's pretty awesome. I'm wearing it now over black rage. It makes me happy. Woman is also a gorgeous color, my hubby picked it out ;).

Digital and DH, Hard Candy Mattify, Purple and Blue Holos.

These are my first holo's, YAY! I have only seen holo swatches online, photos don't do them justice, holy moly, they are FAB.U.LOUS!

With these polishes my stash is up to 78, that's crazy to me lol.

Sunday Football Series #6~ Detroit Lions

I used Wet n wild Wild Orchid for my base and it has a little bit of holo glitter in it, it really pops in the sunlight.

The little red school house turns 100

Good morning, Hope everyone has had a great weekend, Happy Monday!

This weekend our little town celebrated our annual Fall Festival and the 100th Anniversary of our little red school house on the hill. It was started in 1911 and is on the Historical Landmark registry.

My kids are the 4th generation to be Oilers. My grandparents, My Mom and all of her siblings, me and most of my cousins, and now my children. We are very proud of our town and school.

My Mom asked me to do her nails for this weekend so I came up with a cute Oiler design.

Our school colors are yellow and purple with the "Oilers" being our mascot. Oil is a big industry for this area. Caddo Lake was even the home of the very first over water oil rig in 1910. The Oil industry is still a pretty big thing in this area, chances are everyone knows somebody that works or has worked in the oil field at some point.

Anyways, I don't mean to bore you with my little history lesson hahaha.

We had a great weekend at the festival, seeing old friends, listening to great music and eating good food. Can't wait to do it all again next year. :)

I absolutely love the song "Last Friday Night" by Katy Perry right now. The video is really what does it for me though, it's just great. You can't go wrong with 80's neon, big hair and Corey Feldman. The 80's were the best! I remember Debbie Gibson and Electric Youth, I even had some Debbie Gibson perfume. And I definitely can't forget the New Kids on the Block. I STILL love them, they were my very first concert and at 9 years old I cried my eyes out when my Mom gave me my ticket. I'm not going to lie, I got to see them a couple of years ago too and I got a little teary eyed when they got on stage. It was amazing, but apparently I could never Hang tough.

So anyways, I digress...Katy Perry! She's so cute and her video for Last Friday Night rocks my socks off and inspired me with her outfit. I think Kathy Beth Terry would be proud. ;)

Mini Halloween crackle Mani ;)

Hello my awesome blog readers. Hope all is well in the blogosphere.

I did another crackle mani on myself tonight and my daughter wanted in on the crackle action. She's my little future crackle addict. She wanted Halloween colors, and what baby wants baby gets. ;)

I used Sally Hanson Sunkissed, Pure ice Wild Thing and No means no with China Glaze Black Mesh on top. There's also a glow in the dark top coat called Expressions, I got it at the dollar tree. It glows pretty good after a couple of coats but take FOREVER to dry. My son also has glow in the dark nails, haha.

Here's my Halloweenish nails I did tonight, it makes me think of zombie skin lol.

My base is Silver Mercedes by Pure Ice with the China Glaze Black Mesh on top.

I also have SH sunkissed and the black crackle on my toes but I'll spare you that visual. ;) We're very festive right now. I love Halloween, it's my favorite holiday next to Christmas of course. I was thinking about some ideas for Christmas mani's earlier today. I can't wait to start decorating for Christmas. I was at Walmart this morning and they are already putting out Christmas stuff o.O I already have big plans for black friday, I need a new Christmas tree and I'm hoping I can find a good deal.

Anyhoo, I won't ramble too much, thanks for dropping by, can't wait to start seeing more Halloween mani's from everyone. The ones I've seen so far have been awesome!!!!!

All Dressed up and no where to go!

I really haven't done much scrapbooking in the last year or so. I think I just got a little burnt out. But I still love, love, love pattern paper and buy it quite a bit. One of my favorite brands is Die Cuts with a View, they have the best coordinating paper packs ever. They have glitter and embossed and foil papers that are to die for.

One of my all time favs from DCWV is the "All Dressed Up" stack. It's just so girly and glamorous. I've got two stacks of this line, it's just FABULOUS!

I decided that my next scrapbook inspired nails HAD to come from this line and I believe this may be my most favorite nail art yet. It has everything a girl could want.

That's a little too much like saying I'm a crack addict. hahaha I have said since the trend started that I wasn't fond of the shatter polish. I thought it looked like someone had a old chipped polish on that needed to be taken off. But I decided to give it a try. So I took some of my swag bucks and bought an amazon gift card and found a bottle of China Glaze Black mesh crackle polish. I paid $5.02 including shipping and didn't have to pay a dime out of pocket....go me! lol

When I first got it and tried it out, it didn't shatter very well so someone suggested putting in a few drops of polish thinner. I did that and now....I'M HOOKED.

It is so neat and unique looking.

My base coat is Wet and Wild Flirty rose with the the CG Black Mesh on top. AWWWEEESOOOMMME!

Sunday Football Series #4-Green Bay Packers

The 2011 football season is in full swing. This week I chose the Green Bay Packers. I LOVE how this one turned out. I really like green and yellow together, they just work well together.

I did dry marbeling for three fingers and freehanded the G logo with a tiny paint brush. I used Sally Hanson Going Green, Finger Paints At Nouv-Yellow and NYC French White tip.

Friday Haul!

Happy Saturday, it's a gorgeous day here in Louisiana. Perfect fall weather!

I did a little shopping yesterday, I actually went specifically to get some new jeans...because mine are TOO BIG, woop woop. I've lost about 20 lbs so far, go me! Anyways, so I came home with zero pairs of jeans and 9 bottles of new polish...gotta have your priorities in check ya know! ;)

The first place I went was Ross, where the jeans were not my style, the one pair they did have that fit me that I liked were about 6 inches too long. :/ But I picked up a box of 6 Wet and Wild polishes for $3.99. Pretty good deal considering they are 99 cents a piece at Walgreens.

It came with (L to R) a no chip top coat, Wild Orchid, Misty Rose, Flirty Rose, Ice Blue Pearl and Blue Sapphire. The Wild Orchid is gorgeous, it's a purple jelly with silver holo glitter. It's so pretty! I also got the Nail stones but I got them at Wal-Mart for $2.99.

Our Second stop before we picked the kids up from school was Sally's...they don't have jeans but they do however have have polish. ;)

I didn't get all of that at Sally's, there I got the Finger Paints blue crackle, China Glaze Lemon Fizz (Clearance 1.99), the polish thinner and the California Mango nail and cuticle balm. The china glaze black mesh shatter polish I actually got in the mail thursday from Amazon.com and my sweet hubby picked up the Klean Colors for me at a Flea Market. I don't know why I didn't think of this before. I found the best inspiration ever for nail art...scrapbook paper! They have so many awesome patterned papers out there these days that would make AMAZING nails.

I am loving my scrapbook inspired nails that I did today.

I used Finger paints Color inside the lines, Pure Ice Black Rage, NYC French white tip, Sinful colors Pink Forever and Pure Ice Wild thing. I used a thin paint brush and a dotting tool for the dot lines.

I did my first tape mani yesterday, it was kind of spur of the moment. I saw some tape and just did it. Nothing fancy just something different that I hadn't done before.

Turned out pretty cute.

I want to try some of the different tape Mani's from this blog, Nail side. She is AWESOME, you need to check out her blog.

Sunday Football Series #3~NY Giants

This week I chose the NY Giants.

I used L.A. Colors Wired, Finger Paints Curator's Crimson and NYC French White Tip.

This mani turned into a bit of a Monet, it looks great far away but up close it's a big ole mess. (Anybody know what movie that's quoted from? lol)

Sunday Football Series #2~ New Orleans SAINTS

I had every intention of starting a Sunday football manicure thing, but last week my hard drive went out and I had no computer. It was pretty sad, there were even some tears shed. Not really, but for dramatic effect, there were tears, lots of tears. We didn't have the laptop for almost a whole week, it was like living in Amish hell. No offense to any Amish that may be reading this. It was bad, on the bright side, both of my kids can finally ride their bikes with no training wheels lol. That sounds bad doesn't it? lol We really aren't that addicted to the internet....well maybe a little but I'm rambling.

Okay, my Sunday football mani. Last week was the Cowboys, who sadly lost that game. This week, THE NEW ORLEANS SAINTS! MY team baby! And they DID win their game this week. Who Dat!

I used NYC Black lace and NYC french white tip and Gold acrylic paint. I used dotting tools and a super thin paint brush for all the details and the fleur de lis'. This gold paint is gorgeous in the sunlight, it really stands out. If I had a better camera ::coughMr.AmberImtalkingtoyoucough::: I could show you but I don't.

I say that in every post, by now you should know I take craptastic photos, I apologize but I do the best I can. ;)

I haven't decided on what team I'm going to do this Sunday, suggestions are welcome!

Hope everyone has a great week, hump day is officially over so it's all down hill from here :). And tomorrow is the first official day of FALL. Wish it felt more like it but I'll take 90 degrees over the 110 we had a lot over the summer any day. At least we can go outside now without bursting into flames.

Come on Barbie Lets Go Party!

Yesterday in my Pink post I mentioned that the pink I was using was the perfect Barbie color and I had my little lightbulb moment. Well, today I made my idea a realization and it is FAB-U-LOUS!

Here was my inspiration:

The coloring on my hands is weird, I don't know what's up with that, but colors on the nails is pretty good.

Pink and Barbie just go hand in hand, don't you think?

I used Sinful Colors Pink Forever, Wet N Wild Tickled pink, Pure Ice Black Rage, and NYC French white tip. I used a thin paint brush for the B, the silhouette and the stripes. For the dots I used a dotting tool.

The only thing I wish is that I could do my right hand just as well but it ain't happenin'. I did good to get decent looking polka dots on my right hand. lol

I'm going to leave you with the greatest song ever. :)

Pretty in Pink

I went to Walgreens yesterday and saw they had Sinful Colors on sale for 99 cents , woop. It was totally a coincidence even though my husband doesn't believe me. :P Anyway, I picked up a few new bottles of SC. I got Secret Admirer, Hottie and Pink forever.

I am loving this Pink forever, it reminds me of Barbie (oooh, lightbulb!!!) It's not too bright, not too light, it's the perfect pink. Barbie would want her Ferarri painted this color.

The crappy cell photos don't do it justice, it's so pretty! I haven't used this stamp much either, it's a bundle monster plate. It's really nice when paired with this pink though. This mani may actually get to stay on a few days.

Now I gotta go get this stupid Aerosmith song "Pink" out of my head. I HATE that song but now it's stuck! :P

Sunday Football Series #1~ Dallas Cowboys

I'm a day late on this, I meant to post it yesterday but I never got around to it. In honor of the new season of NFL football and my hubby's favorite team I did a Dallas Cowboys mani. When I showed him his exact words were "That's what I'm talkin' bout!" lol Dork!

I used Silver Mercedes by Pure Ice, NYC Skin Tight Denim and French White tip. I took the pic this morning and it's almost chipped on the tips some :(. And holy crap I had quite the time getting that star even remotely decent, i spent about 45 minutes on that ONE NAIL. Painting it and repainting it, it was redonkulous and it still isn't perfect. lol I was given several good tips though for next time :)

I got several compliments today on my Cowboy mani, the hubby was quite proud lol. I have a plan to do a new team mani every Sunday through the season. Next week will be my favorite team so stay tuned :).

1. What’s a nickname only your family calls you?
pretty much all of my family calls me Am and a few of my close close friends

2. What’s a weird habit of yours?
When I'm walking up or down stairs I count them as I walk.

3. Do you have any weird phobias?
I'm terrified of bridges. Especially the big caged looking bridges or suspension bridges, they're just scary to me.

4. What’s a song you secretly love to blast and belt out when you’re alone?
Right now it's Rolling in the Deep by Adele

The sounds people make when they eat or drink, it just completely grosses me out and I want to leave.

biting my nails, I have been real good about not doing it the last year or so but it's still something I want to do. I usually just pick at my polish or cuticles now, which is really no better :/

7. What side of the bed do you sleep on?
The right side

I have a white stuffed mouse since I've had since I was a baby (he's OLD lol), he doesn't have a name though, he's just mouse

I have only been to STarbucks once and I had a strawberry and banana smoothie. I'm not a coffee drinker so I don't go there.

Pretty uneventful Saturday, but it was a nice lazy day at home with the kids and hubby. Watched Princess Diaries with my daughter and I painted our nails. I didn't get a chance to take a pic of hers before she messed them up. That only took about 5 minutes after I painted them though so that's not that shocking. She's 7, she can't still long enough to let them dry well enough lol. But they look pretty much exactly like mine. I actually did hers first and liked it so I did mine the same :P

I've seen this done before and I've always thought it was cool.

And then add a little zebra stamping...

Sorry I haven't been around much lately. School has started back here and I've just been preoccupied. With both kiddos in school now you'd think I'd have MORE time but that really hasn't been the case. The hubby's work schedule makes it so we have most of the day and afternoon together so we've been soaking it in :).

I was pretty sad about the boy going to school, it's just been me and him the last three years while the girl was in school. It was sad dropping him off the first day, I surprisingly didn't bawl my eyes out.......until I was in the car by myself lol. My babies are growing up and it hurts my poor Mama heart. It's been SO weird to have so much time to ourselves, we haven't had that much in the last 8 years, it's been nice though.

I actually haven't been in the mood much for nails or anything else hobby wise. I have these big plans to do some re organizing of my scrapbook area and go through my boxes of photos that need to be either put in albums or organized but that hasn't happened yet. I still have plenty of time for that though.

I've really neglected my nails the last few weeks. I had planned on doing this 31 day Challenge going around the nail blogs but I got through day 1 and decided I didn't want to paint my nails every single day for a month. I don't know what's going on with my hands and cuticles but they have been SO dry. I have this hoof and nail lotion that I've been using for a while and it's always done great but all of a sudden it just isn't doing it's job. My cuticles just look dry and they've been cracking and splitting. I've even been putting Olive oil on my cuticles every night and they still look like crap. I'm thinking I need to stop using pure acetone remover so much, I'm sure that's not helping.

Anyhoo, I'm starting to ramble so I'll leave with a few nail pics.

I know I say this a lot, but don't judge me for my crappy cell pics lol I'm working on that :D

This was my Day 1 of the 31 Challenge, it was red. It's Curator's Crimson by Finger Paints, it's a gorgeous creme Red. I love me some reds! I have an accent nail but you can't really see it in this pic. But it's stamped from BM11 plate. Like I said, you can't see it but it's there. lol

I did this next one today and I'm loving it. I freaking LOVE this blue, it's NYC Skin Tight Denim. I used the BM11 stamping plate for this one too and stamped with Pure Ice Silver Mercedes. Blue and silver look so good together in my opinion.

I also had to do a cut down on my nails a few days ago too, they're longer in the red. They're pretty much nubs right now. :(

HOLY SUPER VILLAINS BATMAN!!!!

This week on F&F our challenge was Super Heroes. I was SO excited about this one. I went back and forth about what I wanted to do. Part of me wanted to go girly with all pink, or just do female super heroes. But in the end I decided on doing the opposite of super hero and went with VILLAINS.

I did Batman and 4 of his super villain enemies

Pointer is Catwoman, Middle is joker, Ring is Black Mask and pinky is The Riddler. And of course the thumb is Batman.

I am LOVING this, it turned out a lot better than I thought it was going to. I figured this would end up being my practice run but there's no need to mess with near perfection lol.

This week on Face and Friends our challenge is STARS! Yay! I love my stars bundlemonster stamps.

I used plate BM20.

Polishes used were: sinful colors 24/7(pink), Dream On(purple), Why Not(blue); Pure Ice Wild thing and Finger Paints Art Nouv-Yellow. My base is NYC French tip white.

Hoping next week we're going to be doing a Superhero nail challenge. So if you're in face and friends make sure to go vote!!!! :)

I'm really hoping I can get a new camera soon. I am always taking pictures...well was, it's been been driving me crazy not to have a good camera around. It'll probably end up being my Christmas present lol.

Have a very Smurfy day!

Last week in one of my facebook groups our weekly challenge was a "Summer Mani" so in honor of summer and the new Smurfs movie coming out, I went smurfy :).

I love this blue, it's Why Not by Sinful colors. The flowers were dotted on with a toothpick. These little flowers are Easy peasy as my daughter would say ;).

We still haven't seen the movie yet, hopefully sometime this next week. My daughter is very excited about going to see it. We watch the old Smurf cartoons on the computer all the time. It makes me happy that she loves some of the stuff that I loved when I was her age :).

This is a fabulous little smurfy creation she did the other day of Smurfette. It's smurftastic isn't it?
